There’s something simultaneously exciting and horrifying about discovering the worst entry of the Amityville “franchise” more than 35 films in. And yet, Amityville Hex truly is *that* bad.

The first of writer /director Tony Newton’s two entries, 2021’s Amityville Hex is a disaster in nearly every way. From amateur acting to a repetitive script to an egregiously long (and unearned) runtime, the film embodies all of the negative qualities that have earned “Amityville” films derision and mockery.

Modeled on the screenlife model popularized by Host and, to a lesser extent Unfriended and Searching, Newton’s film focuses on vloggers who participate in “the Amityville Hex”, which involves reading a chant on camera, then documenting the aftermath.

Really though, it’s a crime thriller revolving around the murky circumstances in which the cash cow company behind the matching service was created. Even though WandaVision has come to a close and wrapped up more or less of all its loose ends, there are still many head-scratchers left. Like, where did White Vision go, will he be appearing again, will Monica join Nick Fury's secret space program, and above all, that mind-boggling post-credit scene. The penultimate episode of WandaVision has cleared the air around all the confusion over the sitcom-themed events within the Westview anomaly. The events inside the Hex, as Darcy Lewis coined it, occur in time-jumps while everyone inside the town draws inspiration from American sitcoms. Though the S.W.O.R.D agents couldn't figure out the reason for the sitcoms, the latest episode of the series titled, "Previously On," shows that it's all attached to Wanda's past.

After seven painfully short episodes of Marvel’s WandaVision, we’re still none the wiser about how exactly the Westview anomaly was created, and how Vision was brought back to life.

We’ve just been introduced to one potential villain in the form of nosy neighbor Agnes – unveiled as powerful Marvel Comics witch Agatha Harkness – and we’ve seen that Wanda is still far from a malevolent force. She has threatened people who’ve encroached on The Hex, but she hasn’t killed any of them, and we don’t know how aware she is about the true ramifications of her control over the town’s residents.

Meanwhile, we have some lingering Westview mysteries to uncover, and the true identity of “Pietro Maximoff” to contend with.

Here are some of the biggest theories swirling around what the final two episodes of WandaVision might reveal….

“WandaVision” is officially entering the 2000s. More specifically, 2009, if the latest clip from the series is any indication.

Marvel released the sneak peek at Episode 7 on Thursday, showing Wanda talking directly to camera about how she’s handling the fallout of unexpectedly widening the Hex in last week’s episode. The 1:22 clip seems to follow through on a tease Kevin Feige gave back in November, telling Empire that the show will “go up to the ‘Modern Family’ and ‘The Office’ style,” with characters speaking directly to camera.

“WandaVision” briefly employed the same tactic in Episode 6, with Wanda’s son Billy breaking the fourth wall to explain how his mother and father had been “not fighting, but different” since “Pietro” came to town.

Now, it seems Wanda will be working through her magic hangover in a similar way, giving off some definite Claire Dunphy vibes.

This week on WandaVision, Halloween set the stage for some spot-on costumes and more than a few scares.

Episode 6, titled “All-New Halloween Spooktacular,” kicked off with opening credits that mimicked the style of Malcolm in the Middle and lyrics that warned, “Don’t try to fight the chaos” and asked “What if it’s all an illusion?”

WandaVision's fifth episode packed a powerful punch, and not just because it featured a huge surprise cameo. Episode four ended with Monica Rambeau telling her fellow S.W.O.R.D. agents that, "It's all Wanda," and in the following installment, she reiterates that she believes Wanda created the bubble around Westview to live out her life with her family. As Jimmy, Monica, and Darcy attempt to piece together all the information they've collected, they surmise that the "Hex," as Darcy Lewis happily dubs it, actively alters reality, which explains why Monica's era-appropriate outfit is made of 87 percent kevlar - it's actually the bullet proof vest she went into the Hex wearing.

HBO is known for its big-budget shows, of which Game of Thrones is, of course, the gold standard. But the premium cable channel also branches out from time to time with smaller productions that hearken back to its earlier, more art-house days. The upcoming series Euphoria, starring Zendaya and produced by Drake, is one of those. Adapted from an Israeli teen drama, it's an edgy, close-up look at the lives of a handful of teenagers. Following the original teaser, the first full trailer has been released, and along with a thoughtful voiceover narrative, it's soundtracked by music that seems to perfectly capture the clip's mood.

The song in the trailer is "Hex," a 2016 track by Ark Patrol. It's the title track from the Hex Ep album, with quirky beats and a memorable sound. In short, it's the perfect kind of music to soundtrack a show about the ups and downs of being a modern teenager.

Get ready to feel the “Euphoria.” Drake and Future the Prince’s upcoming teen drama starring singer and actress Zendaya (lately of “The Oa” and “The Greatest Showman”) will be coming to HBO later this year. If a teaser the network released on Thursday is any indication, it’s going to be quite a trippy ride.

Set to the song “Hex” by Ark Patrol, the teaser gives a hint of some of the fun — and trouble — a group of high school students will have as they live in a world far removed from any John Hughes movie.
