This show is very interesting, As a medical professional myself I can see her fantastic technique and outstanding bedside manner. She has a wonderful, light sense of humor and she cares about her patients. If this is not something that you like watching...change the channel.
Have you seen how she sutures so well that there is only a small scar left? That can change lives for the better. This is educational...so many do not know there is a doctor available to help them with such painful and embarrassing conditions. She is sensitive and intelligent. It works well.
It would be wonderful if there were more doctors like her.
At first I thought this might be just another gimmicky, sensational reality show. NOT the case! Patients come to Dr. Sandra Lee with the most extreme dermatalogical abnormalities that hinder & destroy their lives. These are ordinary human beings with extraordinary challenges that in years past would have destroyed their lives or relegated them to a colony of "lepers". Many are fearful of operations, have no insurance or just don't know where to turn. Enter Dr. Lee-an experienced doctor with wonderful bedside manner. She is not fearful of the most disfiguring skin condition and her caring manner helps her patients feel human again. She uses the latest techniques at her disposal to fix conditions as best as possible.
This is the part where people who cannot stand needles, medical fluids or ugly conditions should shut off the show. But for the rest of the audience who either have some medical training or just enjoy seeing humans regain their dignity, this is a wonderful show.
People who have "normal" skin can no longer take their health for granted. They sometimes complain about the tiniest imperfections, This program shows how lucky are people who simply have "non-malignant" skin.

First, Dr. Sandra Lee possesses a charming and caring personality for this type of reality show. Her projection of empathy for each patient seems honest and real.
I can understand how some viewers are put-off by the subject matter of this show. But I find it fascinating to see how the human body can create things that are grotesque and debilitating and how Dr. Lee finds a way to treat these humiliating growths to give each person some relief from their misery.
The second season is starting off great!

Everyone who is saying this show is gross are the reason we have to have warning labels on bottles. Like come on? It literally warns you.
I'm really saddened by how many people go onto this show that have had something for 10+ years and a doctor won't remove it because it is cosmetic, yet some of the lipomas actually affect people's driving, movement, etc. The amount of people that have actually been turned away by other doctors, when the situation has been potentially life threatening. This show makes me feel a sense of relief that these people are finally getting help. But look how far they have to come to get this help? Hopefully this show can shed some light on the situation in America. We need better healthcare.

Procedures can be a bit stomach turning to watch, but you can seem to turn away.
Dr Popper is funny in how she really enjoys popping cyst & etc.

- TriviaOn at least two occasions Dr Lee's patients have had to have their lipomas removed in a hospital rather then her office.
