Biopic about the young student years of former Indonesian President Rudy Habibie. Much if it set in Germany. Quite a funny infectious character that had a way with the pretty ladies.

This is actually a prequel to another film called Habibie & Ainun released in 2012.

The most exciting part was where it Habibie had super cool friends across the world such as Erbakan and Lie Keng Kie. We get to know Habibie when he studies abroad, his struggle with his Indonesian friends against another seniors, how he met another woman before Ainun and how he overcome his illness while being far from his mom.

As an biographic film, this is well written with great execution. It might seems rush at several scenes but it succeds as a whole.

Rudy Habibie (Habibie & Ainun 2) is one of the best movies produced in Indonesia, the duration of this movie is about 142 minutes, long enough to describe the plot that occurs in each scene. Rudy Habibie's movie does not only tell the love story of Mr. Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie and Ainun as told in the film Habibie & Ainun, but also Rudy Habibie's struggle to get an education at one of the campuses (RWTH Aachen) located in Germany. This movie shows how big the spirit of patriotism is that of Rudy Habibie.

This movie was directed by Hanung Bramantyo, one of the best directors in Indonesia, who is my favorite director. The selection of players to become actors in the movie is also very appropriate, can make the atmosphere come alive. Reza Rahadian who played as Rudy Habibie, Chelsea Islan as Ilona, Ernest as Liem Keng Kie, etc. Visual and audio effect in Rudy Habibie's movie has also been very good, so that the people who is watching this movie feel comfortable and interested to watch until it's finished.

One scene that caused people to get carried away was when Rudy Habibie's father died while praying. In the film Rudy Habibie there are many moral messages, one of them is delivered by Rudy's father, "Be a spring! If you are good, then all around you will be good, but if you are dirty, then all around you will die". I really like this movie, very interesting and inspiring. After watching this movie, I became more amazed at Mr. Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie. People who watch this movie will not regret, one of the movies that is very worth to watch. Very nice movie!

Movie that's like this is very rare/beneficial, it shows how the main character solve his problem by his self and rather his country, not to mention the ACTING, the main character played by Reza rahardian was phenomenal he won a lot of awards because the acting he shows on the movie, is not much of a script or rather story like movie, is a more a movie shows about the main character which is habibie, very recommended to watch.

Watching this movie has made my day. Young BJ. Habibie's story inspired me so good. Reza Rahardian and Chelsea Islan act very very well in thiy movie.

I wasn't really a fan of movies, especially living in Singapore where every day is a busy day, thus I normally will skip a lot of interesting movies.

Recently my wife watched this movie on Amazon Prime, while I was working late at night.

The movie really caught my attention, and this is not the norm for me. Once I fully watched the movie, I realized, this was one of the best Indonesian movies that I ever watched throughout my entire life.

What I like most about the movie, it was taken from the real-life story of the 3rd President of Indonesia "Mr. B. J Habibie". It showed the spirit of patriotism and nationalism of bringing back the best knowledge that Habibie has learned overseas, back to Indonesia to enrich the country for a greater purpose.

Some improvement that I think can make this movie become 10++ is to share the lessons learned that Habibie can take from the whole ordeal that almost everything he has done himself, however, to be a truly great leader, he needs to listen, he needs to be more inclusive of the opinion of the others, he needs to be more respectful of other people opinion, which I believe his best friend "Lim Keng Kie" has keep reminding him along the way. Without emphasizing this lesson learned about empathy, the movie will perceived by many as a smart and stubborn person, whereby he only learns his way rather than being open to learn from the others.

Nonetheless, the movie left me with inspiring lessons learned that Smartness, Relentlessness, and Trustworthiness have brought Mr B. J Habibie to make the Indonesian aviation industry a better state. His sincere love for his wife has produced a great family relationship with his kids, which seemingly BJ Habibie lives in great harmony with his family.

You know a film is dreadfully stretched when you can skim through and it doesn't matter because many parts were not essential for the plot anyway. The late B. J. Habibie was an empathetic leader and a phenomenal academic, his early development of those traits is what I was hoping to see more in this film considering we all have witnessed his romantic side in the first film. But of course, some cringe filmmakers should turn this into a cringe work as well. The script is unbearable, the drama is over the top, and most of the actors were either too stiff or take themselves too seriously in the dramatization take. If you intend to make a dual-language film to better reflect the location setting, then go for it fully, don't make a clearly white character speaks Indonesian 90% of the time just because they were "learning the language" a while ago, Chelsea Islan's accent is aggravating at this point. Do you really try to sell the idea that someone speaks a foreign language when they're explosive? Be real for a second. Also, I'm sure this film is backed by a big budget considering the success of the first one, so I wonder what pushed the hair and make-up department to fail spectacularly. Most of the characters abroad, especially the female ones, are presented rather modernly with their hair and make-up. You see, not even Reza Rahadian's genuine performance could save this film.

This is a movie of a selfish uncare person.. with full patriotism minded, but dont care about his family poverty and others feeling.. bad example for youths who saw it....
