70% of the reviews I have seen for this show are bad and make the show seem like a complete rubbish, but I actually like the shows idea and storyline. It's sad that it ended only after 1 season, I would have loved to see more of it. But the acting.. ugh, okay yes, some of the main actors are honestly terrible. It was a horrible job from Julia Sarah Stone (Dana) and Levi Meaden (Matt). I wouldn't say that the others were perfect, but at least they made the acting believable and didn't made me facepalm every time they came on screen. The only one from the young actors who was actually good was Taylor Hickson (Brianna). So the acting is yeah pretty bad, idea and storyline are actually interesting, but the events and problems seemed to solve pretty much always at the end on the episode, so that made it a bit boring and frustrating.
Any show which explores the idea of time travel or something similar always intrigues me. I wasn't looking at the cgi so much, was interested in the story. What i didn't like is the stupid characters, people making stupid decisions, and these were many. Creates unnecessary plot which diverts from the main story. Just feels like lazy writing
Many other posters have described just how bad it is so I won't bother recapping things. Just accept it -- it's really, really bad.
But... it's so bad that it's funny in a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 sort of way. You just have to sit back and try to imagine which direction the next silly plot fork will go. Will the family really be stupid enough to do what the plot is leading them towards, or will they show some rare sign of above-70-IQ intelligence? Oh, it looks like the "smart" daughter is going to say something... how many different physical laws will her pronouncement violate? Oh boy, a big nasty is coming towards "mom"... will she waste it, reason with it, or run away. It really doesn't matter what happens, the chances are good that it will make no sense and lead to laughter along the lines of, "Who gave these people money to make this?" and "Maybe I can get in on the gravy train?"

EDIT: based on the first 3 episodes
This seems to be more of a religious gun fetish wet dream than any kind of serious story. Mostly interesting to watch to see how some part of humanity might think - after all this is no Harry Potter and some folks actually believe this to be reality, which adds a fun twist. Those folks just need to learn how things in reality work - for example that you can not talk back on the announcing system of a supermarket in the parking lot.
And damn - the righteous in the series certainly turn into killers in no time and are able to predict the future.
EDIT: below old review based on first episode
Is it all unbelievable non-sense ... yeah, it is based on the bible so what do people expect? Scientific reasoning?
But it makes for an interesting setup to tell more survival stories with a lot of diversity. And the bible does have plenty of different angles to explore to make for interesting fantasy.
This is based on just the first episode and so no idea where they will take it, but the setup is solid. If you are okay with slow-ass zombies in the Walking Dead somehow beating the militaries of the world, then this is easy to swallow too.
Will keep watching! Hope the stories will match the whole setup.

Unfortunately Syfy has opted to put on shows written by people that apparently don't know much about writing - specifically continuity, plot devices, story progression, and any number of other things that actually make for good writing.
This show, much like Syfy's Van Helsing, features a very unbelievable former military character along with poor characterization that changes moment to moment - in ONE episode. For example, in an episode one of the daughters goes from being full of hope and gung-ho about another character's odds of survival, but not even 10 minutes later is saying that there is no hope at all for another character. The entire thing just comes across as unbelievably stupid, but that is par for the course in this series.
Amanda Tapping apparently helms this show and several others on Syfy, and it seems to me that they've given her license, but not creative license... This show, like many of their newest entries, all suffer from the same tropes, poor characterization, poor writing, and overall poor presentation. The effects aren't bad for low budget television, but the writing is sub-par at best.
