Star Wars: Battlefront II

Battlefront 2 was a highly controversial release at the time, as the game was heavily (and rightfully) criticized for its emphasis on microtransactions, which allowed to pay real-life money for in-game advantages, a toxic gaming attitude if ever there was one.

What about today? Microtransactions are gone and the game has been polished and updated to satisfying results. The single player campaign is short but decent; the multiplayer is excellent, with maps from different eras (original trilogy, prequel trilogy, sequel trilogy), many classes and heroes with a neat variety of powers, tactics and customization, and also various game modes, including spaceship battles and a personal favorite, Ewok Hunt, where some players are Stromtroopers lost on Endor and the others are the Ewoks stalking them.

I wish local co-op on the same console offered more choices - there are a few game modes allowing it, but a minority compared to what you can play online. Still, this is how you salvage a fiasco.

No more micro transactions, a large amount of updates and a ridiculous amount of content, this game has become something right at the end of 2019 that I can say is my favorite multiplayer shooter of this generation.

If you can overlook the short campaign and the old controversy about the pay system (which they have fixed), then this game is amazing. The multiplayer is super fun with a wide variety of fun scenarios

At first, the game was a bit shaky, but I had faith DICE (not EA) would come through and deliver. I think I was right. They've been taking community feedback. "Pay to win" was removed a few days into launch. Progression system has had a massive overhaul to the point where you gain xp by gameplay rather than by loot crates, which have also been removed. They've added lots of customization options, and a clone wars dlc (including anakin, obi wan, grevious, dooku, and geonosis, along with clone trooper legion skins) is on the way. I have higher hopes for this game, mainly because I'm a diehard Star Wars fan.

Since 2017, Battlefront II has evolved into what it was supposed to be. A fun, Star Wars FPS. People like SwanyPlaysGames need to get over the old controversy or when DICE developers delay content. That being said, the additions of Jedi Hunter and Leader of the Droid Army, General Grievous, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, along with Geonosis, and Fallen Jedi Master and Fallen Padawan of Yoda, Count Dooku/ Darth Tyrannus have given players and fans of the Clone War era exactly what they wanted, more content of that era. With Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One coming literally next week, the Prequel Era is ever expanding. The new, non-linear gamemode dropping in March with improved lightsaber combat. Leaked audio files have Grievous interacting with Padmé Amidala and Ahsoka Tano. More clone customization is coming I the game with Anakin also.

People need to give this game a chance now and not write it off or say "too little too late".
