The ART of WAR!!

Battlefield 1 is amazing, level design, campaign, multiplayer, sound, graphics are all stunning here in perfect 60 fps and 1080p and 4k. There are a few bugs and glitches but they were recently fixed with the latest 2gb patch. There are 6 multiplayer modes, Conquest, rush, TDM, Domination, war pigeons. A new mode Operations was also added. The campaign is sadly only 5 hours long but it has 5 amazingly heavy story telling, wonderful characters and some strong powerful war moments. I have to give Battlefield 1 a 9/10 for an amazing performance from EA and DICE. Try it, Buy it, Cherish it cause there will only ever be 1 Battlefield 1!!

One of the greater in the series!

Battlefield 1 first of all comes with a special concept to tell a story about WW1. I think they did this so good. I really enjoyed the campaign. I mean they had variations of missions, so there wasn't just dirty trenches. We had tanks, planes, variations of locations around the world. It had such interesting war stories, and although it was so short dice managed to build up the characters enoug. The stories are emotional and beautiful, every war story also brings a message. And from a historical view they made a great job. They made it so cinematic and that's a good thing! Oh and the look of the game. Battlefield looks clean, the structure, the weapon, characters escpeccially in cutscenes.

For the first time I've actually spent much time in multiplayer with this game. I loved everything with it. This was a fresh start and a new point of view after Battlefield 4. One of the greater games in the Battlefield franchise or maybe even in this genre.

Incredible storytelling, attention to detail, and gameplay

Since this is a website primarily focused on movies, i am focusing on the campaign of Battlefield 1. From a cinematic and storytelling standpoint, Battlefield 1 has excelled where not many games have. The campaign consists of a few distinct stories of individuals throughout the span of the first World War. Battlefield 1 shows us a more personal view of war as seen through the eyes of the people who fought in it. Keeping in mind that it is still historical fiction, the stories and gameplay stick to mix of well crafted realism and exciting vignettes of action. From the introductory cinematics and mission i could tell that this game was something special. Being shown the harsh reality of war, and the humanness of all who fought in the war really brings me to a place that i haven't seen personally in a game; i was even getting a little choked up. The individual episodes of each character you play as have an undeniably cinematic feel to them, and blend both cutscenes and gameplay well. The characters and incredibly well acted and therefore believable in whichever role they play. The score is well crafted: moving when it needs to be and dramatic when called for. It has that nostalgic, 20th century military vibe, without being too in your face about it.

Battlefield 1 takes a great stride in wonderful gameplay and stellar storytelling that differentiates it from its predecessors and forces you to view it separate from any other game, as its own unique experience. I would recommend this game to anyone who appreciates attention to detail and history, and can enjoy a few well crafted stories.

This might be one of the best shooters ever made!

Oh man, battlefield 1 nails it, this is a true masterpiece, from the campaign to the multiplayer. The story is truly amazing, the graphics are so detailed, the multiplayer is just god like. Everything about this game is perfect. the first mission is already so intense i can't even explain it, you just have to play it for yourself! Dice is a true and honest company the actually listen to their fans. First person shooter game rs wanted a world war game, and here they have one, and it is better then ever before. Unlike the company called Activison, But i am not going to talk about those corrupt human beings. I am so in love with this game and i can't wait to play it again after writing this review. This game truly gives you the classic feeling back about the awesome shooters back in the day's!

10/10 for this amazing piece of art!

Best World War 1 game out there

The game's campaign mode (single player) really gives me the chills! The most gruesome, yet realistic and accurate World War 1 game to date.

The campaign focuses on many different aspects of the war which gives the player many stories throughout the game. Everything from battles in Somme to the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey. Instead of focusing on one protagonist, Battlefield 1 focuses on multiple, which makes the game that more unique from other FPS.

I recommend this game most for it's unique and challenging campaign story (play it on hard setting!) I haven't played the multiplayer mode so much, but I can tell you that it's all postive about that as well. FYI I care most about the single player in video games.

Singleplayer: 9,5/10 Multiplayer: 8/10

I hope to see other companies attempt to make more World War 1 games. Greetings for Norway

Amazing, but Slightly Held Back by Mechanics

This is an awesome battlefield game. It also had a refreshingly solid launch for battlefield game. While some of the mechanics in the game are a little frustrating, I think the beauty of the setting and the fact that the campaign is pretty fun provide an overall satisfying experience and boost the score as well.

Pros:
  • Awesome visuals best in the franchise to date in my opinion
  • Map design is great
  • Campaign is very solid unlike most battlefield titles
  • Sniping mechanics and design are some of the best in fps ever
  • Animations make gun play feel pretty satisfying
  • Each mode is accommodated well by the maps

Cons:
  • Tap firing is less effective reducing gunplay skill gap that past battlefield's had
  • Movement can be sluggish at times(although this somewhat makes sense since its a WW1 game)
  • Mission design in the campaign is pretty dreadful

Overall, while some might argue the cons are pretty significant, I think they can overlooked when considering the overall package and fun factor of this game. Definitely one of the best battlefield games ever made.

Thank You

Battlefield 1 is one of the few games part of a regular franchise that managed to harness the passion of a massive developer, made more impressive by the fact they had one of the world more infamous publishers in EA. Yet, here we are. To this day it is widely considered one of the best installments into the FPS genre for various reasons. For me what really stood out was one of the greatest and most powerful soundtracks ever. The stories were also pretty good and underrated, but nothing insane, but as usual DICE nailed the massive multiplayer battle sequences that give you the opportunity to take up various roles and arms in a diverse selection of maps.

Good graphics, mediocre single player campaign

The only thing I liked about the game was the graphics. I'm not interested in the online side. I didn't like the single player mode at all. The stories were very boring and repetitive. For me, it was a game that would have been even below average if the graphics were not good. By the way Cod WW2 is definitely much better than BF1. BF games have never made games with as deep and detailed cinematic narrative as COD games. BF1's cinematics are terrible compared to COD WW2. The only reason for the game's popularity is the multiplayer. If you are not interested in this part at all, like me, you will probably be disappointed. Even if you don't play it, you don't lose much.

Thousands of players in a land of no developers

If you are all about the single player campaign, then you won't be disappointed. War stories are executed well and depict the Great War brilliantly. Although most of the missions are more orientated on Hollywood action combat scenes and there is not much about the actual trench warfare, which was a major thing in WW1.

The multiplayer is the main attraction and they did it so badly. Maps are gorgeous but the location design behind them is horrendous. The point capture fiasco is like a tennis match. If one team captures point A, they will also lose point B resulting in nothing but people joining the defending team or simply leaving the game. Vehicles in this game are exploited beyond belief, people abuse the broken system and developers are doing absolutely nothing about it. To be specific we are talking about tanks that stay behind the front line spamming mortar fires and huge bombers in the sky dropping bombardment across the whole map making escapes nearly impossible. Cheaters are also present and developers again do nothing about it, there is nothing else to do but to believe in human decency. With the graphics this game could have been a phenomenal game about trench warfare and tactics, instead it turned into a grave pit for people running around the map like headless chickens and ignoring objectives.

BF1 Review

Pros:
  • Good campaign-stories
  • Great Gameplay
  • Amazing graphics
  • Online multiplayer still fun
  • Multiplayer Operations is great new mode
  • Realistic audio and sound work

Cons:
  • Campaign is pretty short
  • Grindy multiplayer progression

Verdict: Finally a good WWII shooter, thou not perfect but overall a good (but short) campaign paired with a good multiplayer is valued to a very solid Battlefield game that is worth buying.

The best one since Battlefield 3

The series was on the right track regarding single player campaigns with Bad Company 1 and the dropped the ball till the barely connected (as it was secretly a stealth game) Hardline. This semi-reboot of the series though got about every single thing right that a shooter can do. The campaign is divided is 5,5 short stores that greatly vary in play stile. Avanti Savoia was my favorite, due to the well done flashback structure, and i liked Nothing Is Written the least, as the sneaking didn't feel right. The game also somewhat demonizes the German forces and don't expect much narrative depth. All of them are still memorable but the player jumping gimmick from the prologue should have been feature more than once. The unfairly overlooked Modern Combat spin-off introduced it btw. The multiplayer is pretty much what one would think it is. Meaning that it is way too fast to fit into the period, the guns are also too precise, but it works well, so who am i to argue. The new and very involved mode Operations is the highlight here. I can only conclude that this is the best overall shooter of the generation, with CoD: BO 3 as the runner up. 9/10

Great Battlefield game

Great Game! The weapons in this game are so realistic and well designed and the guns are all very easy to use. Unlike the other battlefields you have to unlock your weapons and spend money on them ( not real money). Very life-like, when playing as a sniper the sun is an actual factor in battlefield 1 and a very cool feature added. The game itself is very good the multiplayer is amazing with the same general modes like conquest, team death match etc. like the other battlefields have. Recommend for 13 year-old and maybe even mature 12 year-old. The game is not very gory the only time you really see blood is if you knife someone a little squirt of blood comes out but nothing very graphic.

Great Game Featuring the Great War

Some love to hate it, but I found this game one hell of a blast. The war stories are fairly entertaining, and I'll have to admit that the single player does improve over the previous campaigns, even though multiplayer is what still dominates, as in any other Battlefield game. The beta didn't feel that fun to me, but I am still glad I have this game a chance anyways.

First of all, you cannot go wrong with the graphics. It is so detailed and so sophisticated. It's like it's a polished game, and it's polish is polished as well. The destruction adds to it all, and you have a wonderful cinematic experience, online and offline. The battlefield has never looked this good... And the sound effects, as well as the soundtrack, is just amazing.

The gameplay is what one would normally expect out of a Battlefield game. Large, open maps (with a fair share of close quarters), vehicles, and of course, destruction. While I'm not a big fan of every single map in this title, they still look as beautiful as ever. Conquest returns, and is still satisfying as always. War pigeons is a new and fairly odd game mode, but it still delivers. And while other modes like TDM, Domination, and Rush return, the new mode that takes this game to a whole new level is Operations. Its mostly like a mix between Conquest and Rush, but story driven, and it feels like real combat and war strategy. No two matches are ever the same with this one.

What really caught my eye and still impresses me is the use of behemoths, giant, heavily armed vehicles used to aid a team being crushed by the other team. In my opinion, it beats "Levolution," although I was a fan of that too. But the behemoths are player controlled, offering an even more interactive conflict and experience. Even destroying them is a glorious act, so they are fun as long as they are in the server, no matter what.

Now just because I score a 10 for this game does not mean it's perfect. A few flaws may include the campaign being short, a few imbalances within maps, and that the vehicles sometimes appear only for the enemy (could be a coincidence). But the leveling and unlocking system could have been done better. The weapons aren't very abundant due to each gun having three different variations, and they are bought separately. Not that the game's economy is cheap, but there could have been a bit more creativity in the gun roster. Also, I find it strange that you unlock most guns at only level 3 for the classes, and then there's one gun to unlock at level 10, with nothing in between.

Anyways, those things aside, I've had a lot of fun with this game. I'm still not ready to decide whether or not it's my favorite Battlefield game, but it's definitely my game of the year for 2016. The underwhelming amount of guns may be bit of a bother, but I don't find it enough to look down on this game. It's a great buy, and it's still early. The DLCs and updates will bring more content. Yes, I know, the premium pass is expensive, but I am personally still happy with the base game. And I am aware that this isn't a very accurate representation of WWI, but don't forget that a game's priority is fun, not history lessons. Anyways, Battlefield 1 is highly recommended for shooter fans, especially for world war fans.

The Graphic is Good, BUT...

The graphic is good, it's a 2016 game after all. But there are still lots of bugs, although fewer than those in Battlefield 4, but still a lot! The level design is good in chapter 1, 2, 3, where you can drive tanks and planes. Chapter 4 is just normal. But chapter 5 is not good. Actually, it's awful with full of repetitive and unreasonable plot. It's overall a 7.5-or-8-out-of-10 game, worth to try.

Captures the harshness of World war one.

The game has plenty of content, is a blast to play, and delivers on what you would expect for a war game. Not only that, it captures the violence, the harshness, and the feeling of world war one, the rubble and fire in the maps certainly adds to it

I'm Absolutely Impressed!!

Single Player Mode has been the red headed stepchild of games lately and it's been a shame. The indifference to story in favor of sports-like competition with the least mature people on the planet is not my thing. If I can't reach over or even drive over and smack you for being a git then nothing is to stop another person from being that way. EA's Battlefield experience has been some my finest gaming moments. Cooperative server against bots on hard mode for Battlefield Vietnam has been the best.

Since after BF2, However, EA moved away from the offline bot idea in favor of full multiplayer online. The Campaign for single player in BF 1 does not suffer for lack of story and I am grateful for that. There are about 8 mini-stories... each of them worthy of regard but not lacking in combat and adventure. This is a new and welcome direction for Battlefield.
