It had potential and the lead actor was pretty decent but in the end I still don't know what happened. There's a scene where I think a bad guy may have been trying to explain it but it was really short and he mumbled so who knows. Without a clear plot it's just a bunch of people running around shooting things.

This movie could've been much better had it been explained a bit more. Too many vague references along with garbled voices at the wrong times knocked it down a few pegs. But...I have seen worse. Grade: C-

Something about ancient aliens, back to "play". Lotsa action, gory gore, not much else.

Dark, dumb, annoying and anorexic. The actors needed to drink more coffee, and the baddie aliens looked absoluteley stupid with silly putty or whatever that is all over their heads. The high-tech props provided some comic relief from a dead premise presented in such lackluster fashion that you never know what is going on (beyond some deep state plot to take over a tiny town) and you couldn't care less. If you stick it out there are a couple of kewl head smash / blown off scenes that almost make it worth the watch.

This movie just came out, the actors (?) should've seen plenty of horrible movies before they were in this one so they would know that this is an awful movie and maybe try to do something about it. Just shows that you can be in a movie I have no idea what the final product is going to be.

This is a 2 hour movie in which the whole plot is revealed in 20 seconds by an hologram, some 10 minutes before the end... The movie is full of pointless and boring sequences that have zero value to advance the plot or the characters. All other sequences are mostly boringly longer than they should be.

I blame this on lazy screenwriting and lack of editing experience. Looks like it started off with an interesting concept, but then... they ruined it completely with subpar movie-making skills. The whole movie looks like it was made by a cinema student trying too hard to show that he can make movies like a grown-up, with lots of directing clichés, such as 4-shot sequence of guys exiting their cars, complete with close-up on the guys boots next to the car door, and lots of bad dialogue. I can't understand why people with no talent try to do indie movies. The first thing you need to really nail it is a great script, and that's the thing for which you don't need a big budget. But you do need talent and hard work. There are a couple of good actors in this one, but there's really nothing else worth mention.

I actually could tell this was going to be a dud right from the start. A lousy music score is always a sure sign that a movie is going to suck. Only talentless directors and producers can put up with a lousy music score.

There is no cure for sloppy writing and no antidote for lack of talent. I suggest the director finds another way to make a living. He's in the wrong business.

This was 2 hours of huh?? I lost the plot 15 minutes in and spent the rest of the time laughing at the horribleness.

Nothing is clear about this movie till the big reveal near the end and even then it only explains about half of what you saw. Guess that made the other half completely pointless. This is a movie that supports the old adage...you get what you pay for, and this movie was free. Don't waste your time.

The current rating (when posting) of 3.2 is lower than it desires for a number of reasons.

It's packed with actor's who at least can act and have had roles in a lot of shows you will know and probably have seen

It has a half decent story line which most "B" rate indies don't have

And the studio has not paid their staff and actors to come on these sites to post unbelievable praise and give it maximum ratings

Well worth a watch, so long as you like a bit of Sci-fi!

This is a bad movie. Really bad. I held on waiting to see if it would turn around. Nope. Bad all around. No redeeming qualities at all. Made no sense and had HORRIBLE acting.

I'll give low budget or indie movies a try, and I usually end up turning them off after 10-30 minutes unless it is a funny Rifftrax. This one surprised me though. It had a good story arc, the acting wasn't terrible, and I really enjoyed it. I wish the plot was a little more creatively explained in the story a little better toward the end, but they kept me glued to the screen the entire time.

Kudos to this studio! I hope to see more titles like it. No politics, lectures, or PC stuff ... just an interesting movie. I'm sure they will get better and hopefully I'll get to see a sequel.

You gotta like sci-fi for this . It's not just abrams but pretty good little indie sci-fi

Unfortunately this has great potential....really bad cinematography...intro dialogue about gender as a joke...not giving immediate understanding of what this theatre-is-about...alot of close-ups showing no real effort in trying to convince the audiance that this has the illusion of being real....bordem will quickly-set-in causing you to fast-forward hoping for some actual convincing action...the movie-covers they created have more substance then the entire movie. However the drawn-out acting was the only redeeming quality!

Interpreters is a Sci-Fi thriller film directed by Michael Ryan and stars Ace Marrero, Manny Martinez Hernandez, Sophia Medley, Erin Stegeman, Christopher Kriesa and Stefan Hayek.

Whenever you make a film without a script or story then this is the result. I am still not been able to understand the concept of the film and why the film was made. There were two plots that were running simultaneously and none of the plot gets a decent closure, with a horrible acting, headless plot and baseless screenplay i would not recommend anyone to watch this film.

I know. My subject title contradicts my rating of 7/10. I'm a sci-fi nut and will watch just about anything. As bad as the movie is technically, it's a pretty good story with an interesting premise. I ignored the cliches and choppy editing and just sat back and enjoyed it.

Way too many unfinished story lines, even to resolve in a sequel! Lots of dead characters who were never fleshed out, pardon the pun. This story has a lot of potential. But it's impossible to understand where things are going when so many characters are killed off with little to no explanation. Even the ending was a bust because I still don't know where the story is supposed to end.

If there ever is another movie, there will be too many broken story lines to resolve, essentially requiring you to watch the original all over again. Otherwise it would take half of the new movie to make sense out of what happened in the first.

Decent actors, really. Decent script, not the best plot though. For a low budget movie (not great effects and the fighting scenes weren't the best ) I still think the ambition shined through. Definitely a 5 of 10, maybe even a 6.

It was good enough for me to watch the whole thing, and come on. I endured five minutes of Avatar Last Aitbender. This movie is way better than that. Everything is.

What can I say.. yhat was a brilliant film and storyline I was reading some of the other reviews and I agree with the person that said, usually with low budget indie films the have a feel to them like its trying to hard to get the formula right like a Hollywood movie with the story actors, and the special effects.

This movie was the equivalent to the movie Extraterrestrial.

The actors were brilliant aswell and the badies played their part brilliantly and were very chilling.

Actually a thought has just come to me. This movie had what Hollywood movies have lost originality.

And as for the aliens what! Never seen anything like that before.. I like the creepiness of the government or corporation working with the aliens.. just like in yhe film extraterrestrial.

You'd be nuts not to make a sequel, the story can go along way.

The is one criticism though and I agree with another person's post.. whenbthe alien explains what they are doing and why it wasn't so much that he mumbled but it sounded like speaking with one of those voice synthesiser which had electronic interference so the voice was too distorted to understand word for word. With such attention to detail in the whole movie I'm stunned thi bit was aloud to be substandard, the least you could have done was quality check that part because I think I know why the aliens were there but I'm not actually sure.

As for special effects wow.. heads exoding when shot really did look real .. I was like oh my god thats shockingly realistic it looked, and as for swashing the guys head.. genius.

I would definitely recommend people watch this movie it's a 9/10. And you won't be disappointed.

I will definitely be watching it again.

I think indie sci fi is definitely the way forward because they think out side the box, try new stuff and all Hollywood do is try and use the same formula that brought them lots of money in a box office hit 10 years previously that why Hollywood are alway making remakes of old movies.

This was the funniest genre I've ever seen and so much fun! I want to recommend it, I definitely want you to see it!!! It's a movie you won't regret!!! I wish I could see it!!! I definitely want to see it!

Ummm... I don't know where to start... but I didn't expect it at first... because it's such a small movie and I don't know the director. But after seeing it, I changed my mind! It was a really good movie and it was a fun movie. I recommend it!

The actors in interpreters are so good at acting, the directing, the music, and the story are all so good! It was so nice to meet you like this! It was a really good movie and I thought it would never happen again!

It's so pathetic... Why did I watch this movie now???... Wow... I've never thought about it until now... So sad!!! Glad to see you now! I hope you don't regret it like me!
