Resumen
Reviewers say 'Re: Zero - Starting Life in Another World' is lauded for its intricate characters, psychological depth, and emotional narrative. The Return by Death mechanic and Subaru's development are key highlights. However, criticisms point to repetitive deaths, uneven character arcs, and pacing issues. Some viewers find the protagonist unlikable and the plot convoluted, while others enjoy the world-building and mystery. The anime’s dark themes and violence may not appeal to all audiences, creating a divisive viewing experience.

This is a show I can't help but love and hate at the same time. The plot is really interesting and original, and some episodes are absolutely incredible, like S1E15. It's a brutal story of death and despair where a useless protagonist is forced to learn from his mistakes over and over in the most gruesome ways, and that's his only "superpower" to overcome all odds. That makes the protagonist a very relatable and likable one, undoubtedly one of the best character developments I've ever watched in anime (and I've watched a lot).
On the other hand I often found other characters to be incredibly annoying (I'm looking at you Ram); the plot often goes on weird tangents that make little sense and contradict or derail the main plot; you are often lead to believe every single character is conspiring against the protagonist for some mysterious reason.
Overall a great show, highly recommended; but expect an excess of pretentious characters with bad attitudes and overpowered girls in maid outfits.

Re: Zero is less of an Isekai and more of a Thriller. It balances dark themes extremely well. The focus on characters and their motives are what makes this show so interesting. People like Roswaal and Echidina are what give this show such an aura of mystery and horror. The soundtrack is amazing and the gore is never sugarcoated and always makes you uneasy. Re: Zero is a show that has a lot of potential and I can't wait for future episodes.
One of the best anime stories out there. Don't let the fact it is an Isekai deter you. In-fact, Re:Zero started as a web novel very early on in the Isekai Genre. Part of me wishes it wasn't considered one because there are so many ppl. That would love this show that automatically shut out all Isekai.
What makes this show special is the writing, character development that feels real, psychological thriller, world building, and an outstanding cast of characters you will root and jump out of your seat when someone comes along to remind them how to love yourself and cherish oneself.
The show doesn't have fear to stray away from tough topics either. The author even shares alternatives of what would happen if the main character chose sin over virtue. Watch this show. It is going to be GOATED as more seasons come out adapting the Light Novel Arcs. Season 3 has started with a bang!

This anime is set in a medieval fantasy world like that of a videogame (think Skyrim or an mmo) and has a certain element to it which is key to Steins;Gate. It's also made by the same studio White Fox, this is a good anime studio.
The series is about a layabout called Subaru which finds himself in this other world and like the film Butterfly Effect, is trying to get the best outcome, whilst also learning more about the world and getting further tangled in it and it's inhabitants affairs. The show has some humorous moments and the character's are likeable (the horrible or antagonistic character's are perfectly unlikeable or hateable). The storyline is interesting and keeps me wanting to know what will happen next, with cliffhangers set at good moments. And the show for it's lighter or goofy moments, also manages to be extremely dark and violent, which is an interesting balance. It's a balance the series or manga (this is condensed from) manages to get right. Some of the written humour or dialog isn't perfect, but for the most part it is good and the english dubbing has talented VA's.
Overall I'd recommend this, it's a quite good show, one that will quickly pull you in if you liked Steins;Gate (despite it's much more fantastical setting and anime-esque protagonist).
