Wow what a great series, I love it.
The first episode was so exciting. I've watched the whole season in 2 days. I think everybody is way too negative about this. Even after the plot twists i wanted to watch the rest of the episodes. This is one of the best series I've seen. A combination of tension, humor and love.
I really hope for a season 2, it is my favourite series!

This is one of my favorites shows this season. I only watched the pilot but it looks very promising.
It's a TV show based on the 2000 film of the same name. It is a fantasy series but a serious one.
Although its premise has nothing really to do with time traveling, the repercussions are pretty similar. A young female cop in 2016 opens a communication channel with her soon-to-be dead father in 1996 who is also a cop working undercover. In her attempt to save his life, she passes critical information to him that change their lives (and those around them) dramatically.
The pilot episode has a remarkably balanced tone. Everything collaborates almost perfectly to create an atmosphere that is both moving and exciting.
The leading couple of Peyton List (the daughter) and Riley Smith (the father) have great chemistry and their scenes "together" are really touching.
The script isn't over-the-top and it doesn't defies logic as another "parallel universes" series of this season (Timeless). The music and the songs work well in this too.
Overall: The subject is trite and it has misused countless times, but "Frequency" deals with it with great care. The two leads give great, touching performances, and the show looks entertaining and interesting. Highly Recommended.
UPDATE (after seeing the 6th episode): The show has lost many of its initial virtues that I pointed out in my Pilot's review. The plot now seems less interesting, the atmosphere is failing to be captivating ( the Nightingale scenes look like a bad episode of Maggie Q's "Stalker"), its logic starting to fail with numerous plot holes (not to mention the brand new "It is Karma" (inevitable soon or later) element that they introduced to us in episode 1x06) and in the end it seems less and less entertaining. I'll keep watching for now but it starts to bore me and I started to dislike the main characters now that we know more of their actual personalities.

I hate the fact that this show was not renewed for a 3rd season. This seems to happen to me a lot over the years, that a show that I like is canceled, similar to Fringe...my favorite TV show ever. I guess that I must have strange tastes, but I liked the concept, and I thought that it was well casted as well as written. Just another bummer for me!
Being from the CW I expected to only watch half of it before changing the channel. Happily surprised I watched the whole episode and enjoyed it. Not so happy that it's a reboot...can't anyone come up with an original story anymore? That aside the show is well cast and acted (though a 28 year old Homicide Detective is a tough pill to swallow, technically possible, but extremely unlikely). The first episode has some serious twists, usually the type of stuff that would develop over an entire season. Hopefully they didn't put everything into the first episode and nothing into the rest of the season. It will be interesting to see if they can continue this caliber of a performance. Here's hoping.
Second episode kept pace, though not quite as dramatic, but within expectations.

A strong start that fizzled about halfway through the first (and only) season. The main storyline was stretched to its breaking point and the side plots felt discarded. A wonderful concept that was perfect for a movie but too open ended for a series. The timelines ran amok over each other and left plot holes everywhere.
