Season one begins shortly after the destruction of the first death star at the end of the original La guerra de las galaxias (1977) as Palpatine and Vader discuss building a second one. It features the evacuation of Bespin as seen in El imperio contraataca (1980) and shows it's aftermath. When the Freemakers visit Tatooine, Jabba's men are seen carting around Han's Carbonite-frozen body wherever they go. The season ends as the Rebel Alliance is gathering it's forces in preparation of the attack on the second Death Star in El regreso del jedi (1983).

In an interview published In Star Wars Insider 167, producers Bill Motz and Bob Roth revealed that the Freemaker siblings were designed by the Lucasfilm art department under guidance of Doug Chiang and were initially drawn as normal humans. Then the artwork was sent to the LEGO team to be interpreted as LEGO mini figures.
