Just don't. Bill, if you're reading this, get a new agent.
2 stars for the young actors because they tried. And hopefully learned valuable lessons.

Really wanted to like it, but the writing makes zero sense. The 2 young girls are horrendous at "acting". Bill Moseley is the only redeeming quality, but even he can only do so much with this tripe. What a let down after waiting so long for this to become available.

*NON-SPOILER*
As much as I tried, I could not get into this film. The storyline is unimaginative and bland whilst the acting is very robotic and scripted (more so from the two girls). You always get one chance to redeem any horror film by making it genuinely scary, unfortunately this completely failed to do that.

I looked forward to this film for such a long time however it was a waste of my time both waiting and watching it. The acting is awful! The Mother is super annoying. Nothing makes sense in this movie.....NOTHING! This was a waste of Bill Moseley's talent. The constant rhymes his character Crepitus speaks in is not creepy it's just stupid and annoying. The film is just cheap and poorly done. The writing is terrible. Save your time and money.

Movie was awful, and once again there's a bunch of 10 star reviews from people who've never reviewed or rated ANY other movie. AVOID!!!;

What a boring cheap movie with some ridiculously bad acting...I have no damn clue why some horror websites are praising it. What a waste of time..

This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my entire life and I legitimately enjoy bad movies. This movie isn't "bad" in the fun way a movie like Plan 9 is; it's genuinely painful to watch. The acting is stitled, the scares are nonexistent, the plot is nonsensical, and they couldn't even manage to properly record the dialog. This movie isn't even 90 minutes long but it felt like it lasted for about 7 hours. I don't understand how anyone involved in this watched the final cut and didn't immediately destroy the thing. I hope that everyone involved in this film either goes on to better and better things or solemnly decides to never make another movie again. The world isn't big enough for two movies this terrible.

I don't know what I just watched. I have never been more confused in my entire life. Shame on everyone involved in this god awful movie and shame on your families too. I'm mad at how confused I am and I think I could make a better film than this load of hot garbage. Gingerknight needs to be shut down and put in jail for this. Disgusting.

I was lucky enough to see this at Spooky Empire 2018 where the film won 'Best Feature'. Crepitus is well scripted with a steady pace which slowly unfolds its sinister tale that I won't spoil here. There is an eldritch, Loveraftian element at play with the titular villain of the film that is executed very well through the scenes he's in, played by horror legend Bill Moseley (Devil's Rejects, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2). The film has a fantastic creepy atmosphere that will delight fans of slow burn horror and is an impressive example of what can be achieved in a contained location.

I think the reviews on here so far are a little stilted, so I feel like I must offer up something a little more honest. I live about an hour and a half from where the majority of this film was made in small town Northern Michigan and I even got to catch the "home town" premiere at the local movie theater there. It was quite an experience attending the viewing with the director, and a few others involved, sitting in on the screening; it was kind of tense. Given the situation, I just think a lot of people were in awe. I, on the other hand, viewed the film a little more realistically, and actually had to stifle a few giggles because it felt like the entire audience was taking the film too seriously...and I just don't think that's how it was meant. The antics from the mother alone are so off-the-wall bonkers it's hard not to smile. Plus, Bill Moseley popping up as a clown reciting messed up nursery-type rhymes is an absolute delight. All that said, this is a low budget movie. As a person who would sit down and watch this in the first place, you should already have some idea of what you're getting yourself into. Maybe parts of the project are a little green, but this movie has a lot of heart and you can tell the people involved were at least enjoying themselves while they were exploring this world. I've heard talk of a sequel and, honestly, I'm here for it. The Crepitus character has a lot of potential, expanding on that with a touch more money would be golden. Regardless, if you're into killer clowns, there are much, much, much worse movies than this.

Ignore the negative reviews! I'm by no means an aspiring critic, just a movie lover, and if you love horror then you have to see this. Cult classic!

I have been a fan of Bill Moseley since watching his performance in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. I was excited to hear he was coming to my hometown to shoot this film that was written and directed by Cheboygan Natives. This is a must see.

I'm not sure why some people didn't get the storyline, there was definitely one there. Even being a lower budget film but for what they were going for, it was there. I personally found it unsettling and super bizarre and that's what I want out of a good scary movie. This one did just that.

I loved that this movie was filmed in Michigan. The villain of the movie played by Bill Moseley (Devil's Rejects, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) was extremely well done but that's what you would expect from Bill Moseley.

I am not usually a horror movie buff, but I enjoyed watching this film for a number of reasons. I was able to buy into the storyline right away. It was heavier on the psychological side than physical horror side. I was sympathetic to the main characters. It kept me wondering what was going to happen next. A very nice debut film for these two producers.

Sure the clown is horrifying and twisted, but another terrifying aspect is the mother. Brandi's laugh alone is enough to give someone nightmares. Brandi (Eve) was the standout actress to me in this production. I did not see the ending coming and it's one of those movies you want to watch again to pick up on the subtle details.

Crepitus is a deep, introspective look at small town life. Sister dynamic? Got it. Child abuse? Got it. Dilapidated mid century architecture? Creepy basement? Cannibalism clown? Incest? Got all that, too.
A film that rises to the level of cult pop fiction meets small town urban legend, Crepitus was an enjoyable jaunt, that will leave you scurrying up the stairs as the lights go off behind you. Things that go bump in the night are not just a squirrel. Cozy up with a nice bowl of hot ham water and enjoy!
