It's actually quite hard to make a good romantic movie. Not only the story must evoke strong positive feelings from completely different people, but the actors need to display a chemistry that goes beyond words, beyond image. This movie fails to do that on almost every front, although it has a decent premise and actors. Besides that, the entire plot of the film was spoiled in the description of the film on the movie platform I was using, so there was nothing else left than the details. And they kind of sucked. Not only that, they started promising something and then completely forgot about it, like the connection between the two best friends of the main actors, for example.

Bottom line: a standard romantic plot acted and directed at a mere mediocre level and plagued by a lack of chemistry between the protagonists. A decent attempt, but sadly not enough.

I reckon sometime in the future you won't have to swipe but just think about it. Is romance dead? I think many would say yes ... on the other hand it may just have evolved into something else. It is a different ball game out there for sure. Not that those who were good at it, have lost any of their "power".

I reckon it is easier to say no to someone when you just have a screen and not the person to look at. But back to this, which is quite the heartfelt movie and quite the performances as well. It may be predictable (what Romantic comedy isn't), but it is well made.

I only found out Karoline Herfurth was the lead, the director and one of the writers after I had seen the movie, well done on all counts.

I don't speak or understand German, so had to read the subtitles, but that's OK, I really like non English movies, sometimes I think more than I like English movies.

This is another German movie that I really enjoyed, basically from start to finish. I would have given it a 10, but some of the characters bothered me a little and it is not perfect.

Karoline Herfurth really is great as one lead and Friedrich Mücke did a good job as the other lead, almost all of the cast were very very good. Very well acted.

Some would say this was predictable, and they would be right, but anyone who enjoys rom coms would know they are often predictable and should expect it. That does not detract from the movie.

This one is as good as any other rom com I have seen and would watch it again. If you like rom coms with happy endings and a few laughs along the way this is one for you.

Pros: -First 4 minutes were great visual storytelling -I personally liked the overall atmosphere -The whole thing with the SMS was new to me -Some moments were funny Cons: -Some moments were not funny -Some annoying characters -The friends of the two leading roles were kinda unnecessary for the story -Very predictable and clichéd -Despite of the interesting themes, I found none of the characters interesting or complex The type of movie which manages it to make you feel good, but at the same time, it is so annoying...

Karoline Herfurth is giving a highly successfull debut as a first time director. Adapted from a book by Sofie Cramer the movie tells the story of a woman who lost the great love of her life. Two years after his death she's still sending texts to his old phone number. Unbekownst to her the number is in use again. The new owner of the phone is touched by the messages received and starts looking for the sender. The acting in this movie is superb. Especially convincing is Friedrich Mücke as Mark, who easily navigates the difficulties so often faced by actors in a romantic comedy. The story unfolds in an organic way. The side characters give it a balance and make for a great ensemble cast. The score by Annette Focks is an amazing addition that serves the purpose of the story. The same can be said about the carefully selected songs, making the soundtrack all in all a great experience.

Don't miss this movie.

Normally I don't like German movies. They are mostly just a bad copy of American adaptations with worse dialogues, mumbling actors and script changes that don't fit.

But after the unexpectedly great movie "Das perfekte Geheimnis" I also wanted to give this movie a chance. Also, because I like to see Karoline Herfurth. And what can I say? I love it!

Great characters, wonderful entertaining and realistic story without a lot of frills.

Recommendable.

I didn't liked this movie. I expected more. Some moments were OK others were way to boring. Scenario was too complex. I stopped watched after 30 minutes and felt asleep.
