If you like drama/ thriller where the psychotic is hidden as sanity this is your movie, because 5150 blurs the line between the two. The 911 calls put my nerves on high alert, and Cami gave me flashbacks from when I worked on a psych-unit at a hospital in Colorado. The ending had me speaking in tongues if you know what that means or to put it another way, it has a WTF ending.
This film is NOT worth wasting time over.
The three main actresses are decent enough at acting (pregnant woman, not so much) but the "actress" playing Cami is a very poor actor. There are some parts where she may as well be reading from a sheet of paper - it's actually possible to tell that she's misunderstood some of the punctuation in her lines by how she says them. There are some cringe-worthy moments when she plays angry, high or crazy.
The plot is simple and relatively uninteresting with highly unlikable characters. However, these characters didn't really need to be likable or fleshed-out, since the plot doesn't really go anywhere and the ending is neither climactic nor anti-climactic, it just kind of goes nowhere.
The multitude of other reviews giving 9/10 and 10/10 are interestingly all written around the same time (around 18th July 2017) and each reviewer created an account just to review this film. Clearly fake reviews. I wish IMDb would have someone check the reviews and delete these blatantly obvious fake reviews.

It is July 20th at 3:37 a.m. So far seems like a unique movie but I hate the portrayal of the mentally ill population I have not finished the film as of yet but what I can honestly comment is this audience if you learn one thing I pray it is this keeping important things from those you call friends family or loved ones is never a good idea. Most important forgiveness is something all of us need to work on. Forgive and forget is often hard for many. But most importantly do on to others as you would want them to do to you. Think about that logic as you watch this film. So far I am not enjoying the nature of it but it seems to be original and one of a kind to me so let see how it goes from here.
4.5 stars.
5150 is effectively gory beyond most B productions films of this genre. It's unsettling from the beginning and tension is taut until the final scene. I expected it to be supernatural horror or a thrilling slash-fest after reading the synopsis. This film is neither of those. It's a relatively gritty crime-thriller with tension remaining taut up until the final scene. That's certainly applaudible, but with a short runtime it wasn't a major feat. Some care was put into conveying a back story for each of our main characters creating a nice crescendo for us to ride until the end of the film. By the end, we see the characters in a new, and very different light. Is some ways the film was predictable, formulaic. When the landlord character is introduced, I knew where PART of the plot was headed but I still unaware I was watching a crime-thriller until later. Overall, the writing is still fairly good with believable script that simply lacks style at times. I would recommend this one to friends with express interest in the genre who are having difficulty finding something "new" to watch.

Extrramely annoying movie to say the least, unless you like watching a bunch of females scream at eachother and no acting happen whatsoever except for possibly the worst effects I've ever seen for fighting. Likes like they're having seizures while trying to hit eachother. Acting 1/5
Effects 0/5
Story 1/5
Annoyance 5/5
