I'm a big fan of Theo Von's appearances on podcasts and his more natural comedy, but his standup can leave a lot to be desired. Following the trend of offensive comedy that has been succesful for a lot of other standups, Theo lacks the finesse to actually pull it off.
His lack of filter makes him one of the funniest guys to watch ramble, but when it's mixed in with his pre-written show plan, it can feel very disjointed. While there are a couple of funny moments, some of it is really cringey, and that's not because I have an issue with offensive comedy. While those like Anthony Jeselnik have the ability to make you laugh about some of the most controversial topics, Theo seems to take the same premise, and the same punchlines, but misses any of the substance in between.
Whether it was Netflix's audio editing I don't know, but the crowd looks particularly uninterested for the first half of the performance, notably showing little reaction to the punchlines and adding to that overwhelming feel of cringe.
Great comedian to keep an eye on, but standup's not his specialty.

I was excited to watch this but very disappointed after 5 minutes in. I said maybe the opening is not that good it might get better after this but after watching the whole thing, i can say that it didn't feel like it was theo.

Theo rambles a bit and seems to have zero filter when it comes to his comedy. It's called No Offense for a reason, ironically. The best comedy in my opinion is unfiltered, blatantly honest comedy. The way Theo talks, whether it's the southern accent or just his mannerisms but likely a combination of these, adds to his unique character and humor. He's quickly become a new favorite comedian. Watching this can be especially awkward because of the generally dull crowd. Or maybe his humor is just for the few and far between.

People actually laughed at this? I am not familiar with Theo Von, but heard he was funny, so I wanted to give him a chance. This special missed the mark entirely. I didn't laugh and maybe smiled a few times at the most. He tried too hard and it showed all throughout this special. I'm sure he's a funny guy, so I'm hoping to find more of his content. Maybe this was just an unfunny special and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he's refined his humor since this special and worked on his delivery. Calling his humor unique is just a cop out way of saying that he's not funny. 2/10 would not recommend.

He is honestly one of the funniest people I've ever heard without intentionally trying to make a bit or a joke. People laugh at the stuff he didn't want him to laugh at most of the time and then he will give her the punchline and sometimes it misses the Mark.

Don't waste your time. If you haven't laughed in the first 15 mins, it's probably not going to get any better.

Cheap Jokes - small perspectives. Even if you're in middle school, it's still not good. He did his special in Nashville to try and separate himself from living in LA... But the only thing that sets him apart is his mullet - and that mullet is a choice.

Brendan Schaub is the man. Theo betrayed him in the most disgusting, terrible, horrible, indefensible way. The King and The Sting was the greatest podcast in the history of the USA. Brendan Schaub and The Fighter and The Kid with Bryan Callen is the new greatest podcast in the history of podcasting. USA USA USA! Donald J. Trump will rescue us from terrible standup specials like Theo Von's piece of garbage. He's a better podcaster than a standup. His stories are worse lies than Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer. Do not watch this"special". It will anger you and make you wish you watched The Gringo Papi with Brendan Schaub.

Seemed a little off, but I thought Theo was great. His wittiness and ability to construct his own language is unique and masterful. Ready for his next special.

Surrealist humor meets redneck poetry...
Agree with 10% of what he's says and agree 100% of why he's saying it.
Now I get this guys appeal.

I'm addicted to Theo's podcast and loved this special. I listened to the special before the podcasts and I didn't really believe the stories, but after hearing his podcasts I know most of it is true.
I sooo want to find more specials from him but I've only ever found this and the 30 Lb Bag of Hamsters.
You're the gender neutral hairstyle hitter!! Gang gang!!!

For someone who barely uses any foul language on a Netflix special, Theo can put it ALL out there for anyone who can relate to "people watching/observing everyday life and or their family."
I literally laughed until I cried!!!! I had to pause it until I composed myself and THEN he whammies you again with something out of left field that will get you started laughing hysterically again.
It specifically states: "No Offense" in the title, so if you're offended easily then this is definitely NOT for you! (Especially since there are other comedians out there who are WAY MORE offensive than Theo!) And are getting higher ratings for their specials. I definitely hope he makes more and see him get a comedy special on a huge Network!

He's funny in such a unique way. This special caught me completely by surprise. Was dying laughing with my girlfriend the whole time and I consider myself a comedian enthusiast so I've seen a lot of people. Highly recommend him as a comedian.

His jokes and stories are way more creative than most comedian's.
I recently started watching his podcast and wondered what kind of stand-ups such a sensitive and seemingly serious person does, so I saw this.
It was funny and unique, his humor - def worth watching.
Theo, if you ever see this, I have some tips that will help: 1. Pick your audience, this was a bad audience, invite friends who can laugh 2. Be more confident, you deserve it and it will help the joke delivery a lot 3. If a joke doesn't land, go in on the audience or move on, but don't let awkward silence happen
This was old so you probably know these things by now, looking forward to more specials.

I laughed my off to this a few years back, randomly thought of one of Theo's jokes and came back to watch again. I was on the floor. This is one of them hidden gems. I had to hop on here and 10-star some love.
To all you low-star raters... something bit ya? Get your lives together.
