I'm from Yorkshire but live in the states.
The Yorkshire vet is a fantastic show.
All the vets are truly amazing.
Reminds me of home 🙂🙂
For any animal lover, this is the ideal program. The main two vets, Peter and Julian are amazing, their knowledge, kindness and dedication is plain to see. When sadly they lose an animal or have to euthanise one its clear to see that it affects them. One thing that stands out with The Yorkshire Vet is that this isn't one of those shows that highlights rich, well off people that you can't relate to, it shows down to Earth, normal, average people that you can instantly make a connection with and feel their loss or pain. Long may it continue.
If all reality TV was like this I wouldn't be so allergic to it. Rather than looking for (even stoking) conflict, it celebrates warm and engaging people, both the vets and their clients. Instead of scripting scenes to try (and normally fail) to make them more dramatic/funny/interesting, it lets these warm and engaging people live their real life dramas, and in the process lets you see how genuinely funny and interesting people can be when just benig themselves. And then of course there is the glorious scenery, and the animals which are the supposed reason for the programme. I say supposed because it is really about the people first and foremost; in the Greens, a supremely cuddlable old couple, the show really has struck gold. The vets tend to deal with clients more like friends, and I never got the impression as in some vet shows that they are preening for the camera. My only worry is that the takeover of the Skeldale practice by conglomerate Medivet, saying they will no longer treat large animals, might kill off the show.
Thornbury vets have been helping me look after my dog scooby for years but unfortunately tday I had to take scoobs for a vet to see him but unfortunately hed got to his final hours of his life which obviously has totally devastated me but im very pleased to say Thornbury vets delt with this difficult time for us with total professionalism and caring making a really tough time for us just that little bit bearable so a huge thanks to all the staff and vets who helped me take care of my much loved companion scooby.
Such a sweet show...I love the Greens! I recently discovered this on Acorn TV.
