I know this has some dismal reviews, and I get that, but of all the formats of this show, The Australian format is the most watchable. I was made to watch this, and I binge watched several.
Yes it's hideous, yes it's bawdy and outrageous, but I couldn't stop watching. I know this is a show I would normally avoid like the plague, but I had to keep watching.
Of course it lingers on the outrageous, and highlights the worst moments, but underneath that you see some good people.
The settings are glorious, as a Brit, I'm jealous to see all of that sunshine.
It's watchable, 7/10.

Honey, if I wanted to know about all that juicy married couple drama, I'd just talk to a bunch of married people in real life. There is honestly no point to this show asides from making money off a bunch of people who don't know where to look for a good story... or for good drama, I suppose. Either way, if you're looking for drama, this show just isn't it. I mean, the drama that does exist is the most basic thing ever, let's not even pretend there's romance in this and it's not much of an experiment either. It starts off sounding vaguely plausible (and interesting, because as much as I know it's not exactly a 21st century idea, arranged marriages aren't a wholly terrible concept... in fiction) but with every episode you come to realise more and more that it's a concept that will scarcely be executed well and never on "reality TV".

Season 6 of MAFS Australia is perfect brainless, trash reality TV and for this reason it has to be awarded the full 10 stars.
All the ingredients are present - tears, laughter, love, anger, resentment, extreme humiliation and sexy, scantily clad bodies, edited for maximum effect and set against the beautiful backdrop of Australia.
The clearly generally emotionally dysfunctional 'contestants' are expertly exploited and often matched with completely incompatible partners, to provoke maximum tension and drama.
This is the modern, digital equivalent of an Victorian freak show. It's like that car crash that you drive past that you can't help slowing down to look at. It's absolutely fantastic.

It's just so funny to watch this horrible people do horrible things to each other and the experts are just always there to cause more drama - the most funny thing about it is that the 'experts' are presented as some sort of therapist that are suppose to match these people perfectly and help the couples later on but they do the exact opposite of it.. lmfao.
Don't take this show seriously, shut your brain down after a work day and LOL!

This show always brings my fam and I together and we sit in front of the show so invested in the unrealistic stupid drama. We hate that we love it so much.

I started watching the series due to my liking for the British version and found that this is completely different. For the first few episodes I loved the show and looked forward to watching it of an evening but when I was 15 episodes into a 25 episode series (90 mins per show) I was sick of the amount of recaps of things I'd seen 1000 times before, and trailers for moments that turned out to be anti-climactic at best. I was so sick of the dinner parties and commitment ceremonies and there wasn't enough air time for the likeable and genuine couples.
To be honest, I could be one of the experts if I state the obvious after something happens between a couple.

Turn off your mind and enjoy beautiful shots of Australia alongside humans at their best and worse. I've only watched season 6 and the show is obviously staged in places but you still see people , well being people.
Cyrell and Sam are genuinely funny, Innes sets herself up as some sort of Cruella Deville character and Elizabeth will possibly need extensive therapy after this.
The show has too many episodes and is floored as a social experiment but there are too many genuine moments of laughter and sadness not to love it. Rating it a 1/10 is like getting angry that avengers doesn't have the same complex narrative of fight club

Pretty good drama, keeps you entertained. However i don't like jackie. She's very selfish. I really like jamie and dave, Hope they do well. The drama is good, Carina is too sensitive but Paul is bad. Wouldn't recommend to my
dog. The editing makes it seem more dramatic but i highly doubt it would be as dramatic without the editing and excessive sound effects that can be quite irritating. They replay scenes to much. The people are all decent, No one crazy. I just wish that the old mafs people could come together and do a reunion and see if the feelings have changed. I wouldn't call the experts experts.

Watched the last season (10) of mafs australia and the couple Harrison and Bronthe ruined this show for me. They were clearly fake and just acting. The show didn't follow their relationship, only their drama. We had to watch too many hours of fake people with no morals, liars and deceivers. Why do we need to watch awful fabricators like bronte and harrisson if we are here to watch real marriages between people who care about each other.
Furthermore my heart breaks when I have to watch the cruelty some partners have to go through when matched with psychopaths. You should be able to fish psychopaths out prior to matching. It is mistreatment of the other person to entertain the public. It should not be legal. It is not ok.
Please make a more real, humane show. I am extremely dissappointed by the production of this show.

Gave it an eight because it's so bad it's brilliant. But in saying that it takes advantage of those with fairly transparent mental health issues. Still that appears to be the way TV in general is now.

Totally scripted, fake, full of fake actors and petty drama! I'd rather wait for cows to come home than waste my time on this garbage television...

We all know it's edited, we know it's hammed up, but for the world of reality TV, it's on the high quality end. The different stages are enjoyable in different stages.
Whenever something happens where you feel like a participant needs to be called out on poor behaviour, the experts do it, and they do it brilliantly.
Minor criticism, I think they should speed up the pre-wedding section, it's less interesting than the ensuing drama.

The concept of the show is great but the producers are so problematic. You can hear sentences being stitched together word by word. At that point, don't bother using "real people" to produce a reality show and just use actors with a script. It's honestly messed up and shouldn't even be classed as reality tv with this much editing.

God yes. Karma Becks. The whole of series 8 is about Bryce. I didn't like him to start off with but I think he has turned a corner. Leave him alone

I would like to know how the experts got the selection of contestants so wrong on the show this year? I feel for the contestants mental health and it was difficult to see how hurt they were! You would think the experts with all the vetting they do would have detected the contestants that joined the show with no intention to give 100% and looking for a life partner and love.
I hope that they will take on board this feedback and know that they are responsible for matching the couples, look out for manipulative and narcissistic traits
Would like to see the experts take some responsibility for the many uncomfortable matches made this season.

Dumb, meloframatic, fake, hollow and unfunny. This show will bore you to tears and invade your nightmares with it's thoughtless production desgn and unlikeable personalities. Begging it to be pulled off the air and be replaced by something that's actually funny and creative

My Husband and I have been together for 12 years. This is the only show we have ever agreed on. We both love watching it and look forward to watching it. We snuggle up with popcorn and watch. It's so much better than the American version.

The very premise of the show is a relationship lottery from which the majority beneficiaries of are the expert panel, the media company and on a rare occasion the individuals.
It portrays the image of science equalling love but yet we have seen some awful matches and very little love.
On the up side there are the fortunate ones but ... Is the science consistently correct.... No is offcourse the answer because science cannot account for physical attraction and connection.
I question the integrity of the panel as there portrayal does not always relate to them being professional relationship experts based on their comments/responses.
I watched season 6 and for them to decide to make a complete mockery of the show and ignore their own science, being the very premise of the show in which they allowed inviduals from differing couples to get together is a mere statement of actually how important their show is as opposed to the science and/or couples.
In my opinion the fact is that the majority of couples fail and they are simply playing with people's lives and feelings, all for fame, money and publicity ratings and viewer numbers.
Yes it is their choice to participate but I feel the show let's them down immensely.
The format needs a complete overhaul, if indeed not completely terminated.
