Victor Vu is one of the best directors in Viet Nam, and he gave us an awesome film which based on Nguyen Nhat Anh's "I see yellow flowers on the green grass" Entire of the film is a story about Thieu and his little brother - Tuong. Everything run slowly, smoothly with many beautiful pictures in Phu Yen province's countryside. The background of the film is in 1989, viewers can have a overview about Viet Nam at that time: poor, destitute but truly full of love. Following 2 little boys's story, viewers will seem to be come back to their childhood with traditional games, works and even the change in thought of Thieu - teenage boy. It is very pure, sincere but selfish. I bet that all people always want to keep in mind all of their memories about that. From my point of view, the bigger drama, the more completion. Let's enjoy the movie and recall your childhood!

"Yellow flowers on the green grass" is a 2015 Vietnamese drama, which was directed by Victor Vu. It is adapted from the novel of the same name by Nguyen Nhat Anh. The film stars Thinh Vinh and Trong Khang. Although there aren't any famous actors, the film attracted a large audience.

The film is about the childhood of the brothers Thieu (Thinh Vinh) and Tuong (Trong Khang) in a poor rural village in central Vietnam in the 1980s. They share and do everything together. However, when their friend next door Man (Thanh My), comes to stay with them and a big flood hits their village, there is a big misunderstanding that leads to Tuong's back injury. The film has an open ending with the scene of Thieu and Tuong studying in their house.

The film received many positive reviews from critics for its touching story, beautiful and familiar scenery of the country in Vietnam, and the especially impressive acting of three main actors.

The film touches audiences' hearts because it is about a story of childhood but it is not childish nor for only children; it's for adults who used to be children. It makes them cry and laugh together when they remember their own childhood, hometown and family. The film is well worth watching.

Such a beautiful movie, both aesthetically and content-wise. Movies featuring children as leads are usually enjoyable when the story looks and feels genuine and heartfelt, and this one ticks all the boxes. The relationship between the brothers, with all the conflicting feelings, the anguish of first love with the hesitations, misunderstandings and awkwardness. Moon is not the brightest, and she looked younger than Thieu, but I cannot tell with Asian children. She seemed much more comfortable with the younger brother. And although this is clearly Thieu's story, Tuong is the sweetest brother and friend you could ever hope to have.

I get the feeling that this is somewhat idealized, but it is 1989 in a rural part of Vietnam, and there are plenty of hardships that the families have to deal with. We see them through Thieu's eyes, but he is on the brink of maturity and he has left the magic world of fairy tales, which Tuong still believes in. There's folklore, magic and superstitions, making childhood an enchanted time. However, parents are quick to anger and corporal punishment. The movie blends it all together and despite some dragginess here and there it ties all loose threads at the end.

The view, the picture, the music is very good. It makes me remember a lot when I was a kid, the horror stories that our grandma usually told us. It's so familiar. But the reason I point it 6/10 is because of the story, I mean it hard for me to follow the story, I think it is a little bit too fast.

This movie is a classical masterpiece..if you don't believe me watch it. You will feel sorrow like I feel. You can't control your emotions when toung crying just for a frog. You will see what true brotherhood is! Some scenes destroy your heart. You will regret why this happened to them. This movie is the most stunning and the most fantastic movie I have ever seen.

Truly said, this movie plot is awesome. I feel way to think that, it's my childhood and I am playing with my brother. Director did his job perfectly. This movie had sorrow, love, emotions, brotherhood, and middle-class family poorness. Also, it has some extraordinary scenes that kill the bottom of your heart.

When you listen to this movie music it's like rain on the outside, wind blowing, birds chirping. You never heard that kind of music, I must say. The cinematography is superb, I am not able to critique it.

This movie summary is two brothers who enjoy their life so much. Playing together, fighting for each other. Helping others to find their love. When big brother misunderstands his small brother playing with man, Theou takes a strict and hit so hard his small brother.
