This movie is ridiculous

It uses God's name negatively & repeatedly throughout the movie. Whoever made this movie is not a follower of Christ. I am a Christian and I was in a cult for years. In my opinion, this movie is a false representation of cult living and Christianity.

Gripping true story

The acting was good. However no character had any likability, or any redeeming feature. Other than that, it held my attention until the end.

According to the Movies Based On True Stories Archives, the 2015 lifetime movie was inspired by and based on the murder of Bethany Deaton, a young woman who was found dead in her car. The 2012 case was in the national news after details of her death suggested that she had been killed at the request of a religious leader, according to The Daily Mail.
