Las elegidas (The chosen ones) is not easy to watch, is not that it has a lot of violence or nudity, is just the kind of story we would prefer not to see, not even think there is people suffering such problems (think Heli, 2013).
It is very well done and avoids falling in most of the clichés of the genre (not all, though). Grabbing a bunch of non-actors has worked way better than other films, I think. Special mention deserve the father and brother of the male protagonist, I think they were picked extremely well, both have at the same time a certain charm that is well contrasted with the terrible acts they commit.

It was good all the way to the finish, what a crap end, did the budget went out? There are way better movies out there in the same category without pricewinner.
Not an easy watch, I still have a knot in my stomach. Raw film making, with a heavy topic, limited dialogue, and some beautiful shots. I found it distressing but that is nothing compared to what women are forced to endure. Our protagonist Sofia, is withdrawn and numb, the trauma transforms her. You question whether she'll ever be free-spirited like we see in the beginning, ever, again. It's criminal to rob a woman of her body, her essence, her soul. I felt deep sadness and privilege throughout.
I have seen similar movies to this one like Lilya4Ever, Your name is Justine and Christine P to name some. Comapred to the 3 movies i just listed, this movie is from start to finish just Sofia (our main character) going through hell.
I'll tell you right now, both the acting and the camera quality aren't the greatest. Our main actress that plays Sofia, like she seems so calm when she entered the place she'll work at, i think her acting could of been better honestly. However, that does not break the fact that this is a pretty well made movie. We have a story that keeps rolling, and you will keep caring about Sofia and just wish she gets out of this mess.
I'll tell you right now, this movie does not need to be nearly 2 hours long. I think you could cut like 20 minutes out of this movie and i think it would of flowed a bit better. There's a few scenes in this, that are just there to drag the movie, like the scene when the two brothers are training, that scene is literally just put there to drag the movie. If we cut needless scenes from this movie, it would just make a pretty good movie even better.
I'll tell you that i was not bored during this entire movie at all, minus the last 20 minutes because you kinda get the picture how it will end. I really like the pitch black ending of this movie, how Sofia even though she is free, she is still stuck with the same people that ruined her existence. I also like the philosophical question this movie asks (think about it).
I am pretty sure this movie was inspired by Lilya4Ever, i can see similarities between these two movies, and both movies are pretty good in their own regards. Yea give this one a shot, it's a pretty well written movie, with a bit of a wacky acting but regardless it still gets its point across.

Yes this flic was eye opening. The misogynistic ways of men are exposed here. Very much appreciated that the sex scenes are shown but heard looking into the faces of those involved, sans the initial one. A truly sad tale. The ending left me wanting a true resolution, but only getting an old ended tale was probably much better. No fairy tale, yet not truly tragic, all circumstances included. All countries must do a better job of exposing and stopping these crimes against our women.
