AMC Networks has released the trailer for its newest series in Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe, “Talamasca: The Secret Order,” which premieres on Sunday, Oct. 26, on AMC and AMC+.

The first season will consist of six episodes, each airing weekly on Sundays. “Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order” focuses on “a secretive society called the Talamasca, comprised of the men and women responsible for tracking and containing the witches, vampires, and other creatures scattered around the globe,” per its official logline.

Rounding out the cast are Nicholas Denton, Elizabeth McGovern, William Fichtner, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Celine Buckens. Jason Schwartzman will guest star and Eric Bogosian and Justin Kirk are reprising their roles from Rice’s “Interview with the Vampire” as crossover characters in the new series.

The I.M.P. are coming to Prime Video with the release of the official trailer for the adult-animated comedy Helluva Boss, and they’d kill for your business. Seasons One and Two of Helluva Boss, previously released on YouTube, will be coming to Prime Video on September 10, along with a brand new special episode.

The trailer celebrates the greatest moments from the first two seasons and teases new footage from the original episode. The new prequel episode, titled “Mission: Zero,” follows the I.M.P. as they plan their very first assassination.

Helluva Boss on Prime Video marks the first time the series will be fully uncensored, subtitled, and dubbed in multiple languages.

A while back, it was announced that The Sixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan and The Notebook author Nicholas Sparks were teaming up for a supernatural romantic thriller called Remain. Shyamalan and Sparks created the original story together, with Shyamalan going off to write a screenplay based on the story while Sparks turned the idea into a novel. As was said at the time, “Both will be based on the same concept and set of characters but designed for their individual mediums.” The Sparks novel is scheduled to reach store shelves this year, on October 7th, and Amazon is already accepting pre-orders for the 352 page book at This Link. M. Night Shyamalan has rounded out the cast of his supernatural romance thriller Remain, Deadline reports.

Julie Hagerty (Airplane), Jay O. Sanders (Along Came a Spider), Tracy Ifeachor (“The Pitt”), Hannah James (“Mercy Street”), Caleb Ruminer (“Finding Carter”), Kieran Mulcare (“Jessica Jones”), and Maria Dizzia (“Orange is the New Black”) have joined the production.

Jake Gyllenhaal (Donnie Darko), Phoebe Dynevor (“Bridgerton”), and Ashley Walters (“Adolescence”) lead the cast.

Currently shooting in Rhode Island, the film is due out on October 23, 2026 from Warner Bros.

Shyamalan co-created the story with author Nicholas Sparks, independently writing a screenplay and a novel based on the same concept and characters but tailored to their respective mediums.

The acquisition was announced during a special animation at Lvl Up Expo, featuring the lead characters of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss respectively, and confirms for the first time that the two series exist in the same Hellaverse universe. Since its premiere, How I Met Your Mother has become an iconic TV sensation. NBC ordered the pilot back in February. The logline states, “Four members of a suburban garden club, all from different walks of life, get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom.”

Robb will star as Alice, described as “your favorite high school English teacher, a dreamer whose best dreams are crashing down on her. She’s a longtime member of the Grosse Pointe Garden Society.”

Robb’s recent credits include Season 1 of “Dr. Death” at Peacock as well as both “The Act” and “Little Fires Everywhere” at Hulu. Her other TV credits include “Mercy Street” and “The Carrie Diaries.” In features, she has starred in projects like “Lansky,” “Words on Bathroom Walls,” “Soul Surfer,” “The Way Way Back,” and “Bridge to Terabithia.

Variety has learned that Alex Metcalf has boarded the show, currently titled “Butch & Sundance,” as showrunner and executive producer. Series creators Kaz Firpo and Ryan Firpo will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers alongside Metcalf. Mary Elizabeth Winstead has signed on to star opposite Ewan McGregor in the upcoming Showtime & Paramount+ series “A Gentleman in Moscow,” Variety has learned exclusively.

McGregor was first reported to be starring in the show back in August 2022. It is an adaptation of the Amor Towles novel of the same name. Production on the limited series is now underway. It will debut on Showtime in the U.S. and on Paramount+ in additional markets around the world.

Exclusive: Luke Macfarlane, best known for his roles in Brothers & Sisters and Smash, has signed an exclusive multi-picture deal with Crown Media Family Networks.

Macfarlane is set to star in Moriah’s Lighthouse, a new movie premiering in June on Hallmark Channel.

Stumptown executive producer David Zabel has joined the as-yet-untitled Twd spinoff as showrunner, AMC confirmed to Deadline exclusively. Zabel replaces current Twd showrunner Angela Kang, as the day-to-day boss on the now Reedus solo series that will be set in and shot in Europe. The spinoff is set to premiere in 2023.

Kang stepped aside to concentrate on other projects she has in development with AMC, we’re told. As Twd winds down its 11th and final season, Kang will serve as EP of the spinoff along with Scott M. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is moving from Fargo to a galaxy far, far away: The actress has joined the cast of Disney+’s upcoming Star Wars series Ahsoka, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ahsoka stars Rosario Dawson, who will reprise her Mandalorian role as Jedi Knight warrior Ahsoka Tano. (The character, a fan favorite from the animated Clone Wars series, made her live-action debut in Season 2 of The Mandalorian.) Details about Winstead’s character are being kept tightly under wraps as of now.

Charlie Robinson, whose five-decade acting career included playing series mainstay Mac Robinson the court clerk on Night Court, died on Sunday in Los Angeles due to cardiac arrest and cancer complications, as Variety reports. He was 75.

It still might be a little while before we’re able to go back to the movies again. Thankfully, with its list of new releases for February 2021, Amazon Prime is bringing the theater home. The movies are the real appeal this month.

Amazon’s offerings are highlighted by two original films of note. The first is Bliss, which premieres on Feb. 5. This will star Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek as a couple experiencing some intimacy issues. Presumably this is all just a tune up for when Wilson dons a mustache in Disney+’s Loki later in May. The other film is the sci-fi rom-com The Map of Tiny Perfect Things on Feb. 12.

Other library movies include Antz, Moulin Rouge, The Prestige, The Village, and Dazed and Confused, all of which arrive on Feb. 1. Sonic the Hedgehog is set to arrive later on Feb. 18.

Amazon is premiering only one new original series this month.

Exclusive: CBS is developing Repeat, a drama series executive produced by Masi Oka and Sabrina Wind, from ABC Studios.

Written and executive produced by David Zabel Repeat is based on the award-winning book of the same name by Kurumi Inui and the 2018 TV series, which aired on Yomiuri Television in Japan.

The project was originally set up by Oka and Wind at CBS last year with a different writer, David Hayter. It did not go to pilot but CBS remained high on the concept and put it in redevelopment. Zabel came on board to pen a new take on the underlying material.

In Repeat, after a group of strangers is mysteriously propelled back 10 months in time, giving them the chance to right wrongs, undo mistakes, and set their lives on a better path, these “repeaters” soon find that changing their fate is a tricky endeavor with unforeseen and even deadly consequences.

We’ll be seeing more of General Alder on the upcoming second season of Motherland: Fort Salem. Lyne Renee, who recurred in nine episodes as the character, has been promoted to series regular for season 2 of the Freeform thriller drama series.

Renee’s General Sarah Alder is the commanding general of the United States’ witch armed forces and in charge of Fort Salem.

Written and created by Eliot Laurence, Motherland: Fort Salem is set in an alternate, present-day America where witches ended their persecution over 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the U.S. government to fight for their country with supernatural tactics and weapons. Taylor Hickson, Jessica Sutton, Ashley Nicole Williams, Amalia Holm, Demetria McKinney and Renee star.

Expect to see more of Erica Sinclair around Hawkings in the future. Priah Ferguson, who plays the sister of Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) on Stranger Things, has been upped to series regular for its upcoming fourth season, sources tell Deadline. Netflix would not comment.

Ferguson had a minor guest role in a few Season 2 episodes but was more prominent in the series’ third run.

At the end of 1985-set Season 3, Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) is seen taking her sons and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) out of the Indiana town to start a new life. There is a jump in geography in the final scene, which takes place in the far eastern end of the Ussr, where guards are feeding a prisoner to an imprisoned Demogorgon, but “not the American.” That American was widely assumed to be Jim Hopper (David Harbour) and a teaser video for Season 4 suggests that it was.
