It is true that all you need is an average script with a good looking cast. I really wanted to like this movie, being that I'm a fam of African movies on Netflix, but this one did not just live up. The story is average, the jokes are cheesy, the script is incongruent, its simply just an average movie. For a love story, I think it would have done better. I however, really like Rotimi and his acting prowess! Anyone who would love to spare one and a half hours that will never recover can watch this movie, but keep your expectations low on this one. However, I cannot advice anyone to spend time and watch this movie, its really not worth it.

What's with Tryson accent? Couldn't they find someone with a real African accent?😡 we are tired of fake African accent!

Who wrote this script? What was the person thinking! The fact dimwit thought we would enjoy this trash is so sad! Horrible and Hideous make up and wig. Dry jokes! How did this actors pass through the auditions? How?

Netflix needs to stop taking all kind of movies! I'm trying understand why you think we would like this empty head storyline. Netflix needs to do better! I'm so irritated that I wasted my time for this trash.... Some actors are just terrible! Adult actors would have done better.

Sarah (erica ash) is working on her degree... in mauritius, of all places. When she finds a great guy, he wants to slow things down. So sarah gets all fired up. And lets him have it. In a big messy, drunken, public scene. Can things be repaired ? Co-stars vanessa williams, stephen bishop, adrian martinez. Some fun, sassy but brutally honest talk between the girls. Rated r for the sex talk and mature subject matter. We seldom see films that take place in mauritius. I had to go look it up! Directed by bryan barber. He had done TONS of music videos, and moved into full length films. On the roku channel. Released in january of 2022, during covid. So it probaby didn't get the budget, advertising, or theater release it deserved. It's actually quite good. Beautiful sky at the very end. And stick around during the end credits... some fun stuff in there.

I thought Singleholic was great. This movie had me dying laughing at times. The beautiful shots of Mauritius created a nice juxtaposition to the internal chaos Sarah was going through. Charlie AKA King Arthur was insane in the best way. It felt like that character was perfectly baked. Adrian Martinez who plays him really nailed the creepy charm his character has. Tyson Beckford's character was ridiculous in the best way and felt like so many people you would meet overseas. There was a clever exploration of escapism while keeping it grounded by not making the island feel too otherworldly. The chemistry between a few characters felt great, those like Sarah and Charlie. I would definitely watch again!

The plot and tone of the film is pretty light-- which is nice compared to all the dark movies that came out during the pandemic. She's just a grad student trying not to get caught in the web of a new relationship. I can relate! Loved that a girl centered rom com could have lewd jokes and women getting crazy instead of just being the nice, doting love interest. Ugh. The bathing suit bottoms scene is my personal nightmare.

Saw this on Roku back on Valentines day-- I could see this as being a fun girls night movie for a night in. Don't know if guys will enjoy the humor as much, but that's their loss.
