It doesn't have the best of writing and doesn't have the best of animations either... though it is a fun experience! Especially for Casual Minecraft players who want more out of the series. Most of everything in this game can be (or has been) modded/built in the vanilla game. (Which is honestly pretty cool) they really did improve once season two was being made, and that kinda revived the game. Don't expect a season 3 as Mojang isn't planning on any new seasons as far as I know. TLDR: it's not the best Minecraft game out there, and most hardcore Minecraft players probably wouldn't enjoy it much, but to the casual players... this is something to try.
'Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series (2015)' isn't Telltale's most mature, affecting or, even, fun game. It is, however, an enjoyably silly adventure that remains entertaining enough throughout. Even its extended episodes, which sort of feel detached from the main game even though they begin before the initially shipped story ends, are entertaining. They're essentially one-shot romps with a breezy pace and a care-free attitude. They also cross over a fair few genres, which keeps them feeling fresh. The game is a typical, modern-day 'choose your own adventure'. Its gameplay primarily consists of dialogue options and quick-time events, though it does contain some more classic - if rudimentary - puzzles, too. The choices don't change a huge amount but they still feel impactful. Telltale continue to display some great writing, keeping you onboard with the absurd story they want to tell and, even, giving you an inevitable lump in your throat. Look, this isn't exactly the pinnacle of gaming. Yet, there's enough here to keep you engaged and it's an enjoyable experience on the whole. 7/10
Minecraft: Story Mode was a game I thoroughly enjoyed at the age of twelve, and even now as an adult I reminisce fondly on the memories. Telltale is basically a company that creates interactive movies sold as video games, and this format isn't for everyone. It's also not for everyone to enjoy pixelated characters and landscapes, lower than average writing, corny dialogue/humor, and light cursing (just "hell" and "damn"). However, this game had my childhood self captivated by its memorable characters, world-building, and storyline. It also has deeper messages under its cheesy exterior, teaching lessons on friendship, teamwork, determination, forgiveness, and facing your demons. Kids will like it a lot. Adults? You have to be a special individual to enjoy it. In the short, if you're a lover of Minecraft, going through a nerdy tween phase, and you don't mind Jesse yelling "damn chickens!", give it a try.
Let me be clear I adore Telltale Games, and I find Minecraft to be an enjoyable relaxing experience. So merge them and it'll be great, right?
Well actually no, or at least I don't think do.
You play a generic square boy/girl in the Minecraft universe teaming with your friends to go on an adventure. And along for the ride are all the blocks, zombies, spiders and token Minecraft tropes you'd expect.
So what went wrong? Well for a start I struggled to take it seriously, being in the Minecraft style it just didn't sit right with me. Then you have the story which was about as interesting as a 5hr lecture on toenails.
To make matters worse the gameplay just wasn't engaging. Sure it's Telltale so I use the term gameplay loosely but still! When you take over as your character and potter round this little world the puzzles and engagements simply aren't very enjoyable.
The game does have a great voice cast and has it's moments, but when a certain bad thing happened to a certain character (No spoilers here) it angered me more than it should. That was just bad writing.
Story Mode for me is a swing and a miss, certainly a contender for the worst Telltale game.
The Good:
Telltale charm
Great voice cast
The Bad:
An adventure in that square universe just doesn't look right
Not very interesting plot
Dull interactive sections
"That" scene.

I played this with my brother when the episodes started releasing 5 years ago. I really enjoyed this. I still play this today whenever normal Minecraft is boring. Minecraft story mode was a story that had great stories, great music, humorous moments, and it had a few really good twists. I really liked the characters(Ivor was my favorite) the characters added to the plot by adding smaller plots that would eventually affect the greater plot. The game had a TON of interesting ideas. I still remember the games story and it was a rollercoaster ride playing it. Wondering if you're making the right choices was exciting to me and my brother.

- TriviaThe "Order of the Stone" is an Easter egg of Minecraft, since Notch was originally going to call Minecraft Minecraft: The Order of the Stone.
- ErroresWhen battling Ivor in Assembly Required, during the Ivor super-speed section, if you stop pressing the button the game is prompting before completing the prompt, Jesse will be frozen in position for the short remainder of the scene.
- Créditos curiososIn Episode 7: Access Denied, most of the "You died!" screens instead display "You were made useful!", referencing P.A.M.A.'s desire to make all creatures 'useful'.
