1Night is a touching, thought-provoking, coming-of-age romance. Stars Justin Chatwin (Shameless) and Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect) are completely convincing in their roles as jaded lovers trying to rekindle the passionate flame they shared in their youth. Likewise, Isabelle Fuhrman (The Orphan) and Kyle Allen (The Path) perfectly portray both the awkwardness—and tenderness—of teen love and existential angst. The film depicts a chance encounter between two distinct couples, one old, one young, and each reflects disparate aspects of being in love. The interconnected nature of the characters' stories makes for an engaging viewing experience. As their narrative arcs weave in and out of one another's, their relationships grow stronger, and their hopes, dreams, fears, and motivations become more complex and fully-realized. In that respect, the film feels like a two-in-one; the elder couple's arc plays out similarly to the cerebral and bittersweet romance Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, while the joyful (and puerile) relationship between the younger couple hearkens to the exuberant indie romance (500) Days of Summer. What's more, the ending—which I refuse to spoil here for anyone—puts M. Night Shyamalan (Sixth Sense, Split) to shame.
1Night is not your average romance movie. I expected to see a traditional, slightly cliché story of an unlikely couple falling for each other at prom, however this wasn't the case. 1Night offered a refreshing look at relationships over time. While this film technically only spans "one night", the contrasts shown between the younger and older couple's relationships in the sense of years left a big impact. At a few parts this film was hilarious in a cute and quirky way, however 1Night really shined when comparing the hurtful rawness of mature love with the sweet tenderness of new love. Without giving away spoilers, the aspect of time in this movie played a larger role than expected and in a way caused 1Night to really stand out among other romantic dramas. Furthermore, this strong plot was impressively acted out by Justin Chatwin (Shameless) and Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), alongside newcomers Isabella Fuhrman (The Ring) and "Heath Ledger doppelganger" Kyle Allen. With hard hitting monologues and cute one liners from both sides, leaving the theater with dry eyes is a struggle. In conclusion, this creative Indie flick pulls at your heart strings in a big way while supported by a strong cast with familiar faces.

1Night is a great romantic drama for Valentine's Day that provides an accurate depiction of the typical progression of a relationship. The movie was set during one night at a hotel where a couple of prom goers (Kyle Allen and Isabelle Fuhrman) run into the mature couple played by Anna Camp (Elizabeth) and Justin Chatwin (Drew). The younger couple, dealing with typical high school issues, work to overcome social differences while the older couple works to save their relationship. As a young guy myself, I felt like I could relate to the young couple. This reminded me of how young love used to be when everyone was still trying to figure out what exactly that they wanted along with the plans of the fast-approaching future. Justin Chatwin and Anna Camp also do a great job collaborating as they try to battle the troubles of their once intimate relationship. I think this was a great representation of how no relationship will ever be perfect and you must conquer the many possible obstacles that will try and get in the way of your happiness. If you're looking for a great watch alone or with a significant other, I highly recommend this movie.
1 Night is a charming, intriguing, and relatable romantic drama. Set in Los Angeles, at the Figueroa Hotel, the film follows a married couple in their mid-30s, played by Anna Camp and Justin Chatwin, as they visit the site of their high school prom, in hopes of rekindling the flame that was the foundation of their once glorious marriage. During the visit, they frequently stumble across an optimistic, ambitious teenage couple, played by Isabelle Fuhrman and Kyle Allen, attending their own prom. The film is largely character driven. It intermittently transitions between the couples, demonstrating both the similarities and haunting differences between them. The juxtaposition of the two couples proves how quickly our feelings of love and romance can change with time. The film's narrative is incredibly realistic, and it suggests that Minhal Baig (writer and director) is drawing on her own evocative experiences. With a captivating plot-twist in the film's final moments, all in all, 1 Night is a thought- provoking romantic drama that audiences of all ages will surely enjoy.
This film tells the story of a grown up couple and a teenage couple, who go through a night of rocky relationships in a hotel in Los Angeles. They try very hard to figure things out, and go through a plethora of thoughts and emotions.
"One Night" is a low budget film that consists of basically non stop talking. The pace is very slow, and there is not much else happening. It reminds me of single location films where characters just talk all the time without doing anything else, though "One Night" is not that extreme. The problem is that the dialogs are not really realistic. People don't talk that poetically on a daily basis. I honestly have never hears anyone use the word peons in daily conversation. To sum up, I find "One Night" rather uneventful and lacking in engagement.
