Katherine Wagner(II)

Katherine Wagner is a Canadian writer of screenplay, fiction, and nonfiction. Her original TV Movie screenplay "Engaged to be Murdered" was optioned by Muse (Los Angeles) and produced for Hallmark Movies and Mysteries in 2024. Her original feature screenplay "The Omertà" was a winner in the Praxis Canadian Screenwriting Competition, 2013, a return winner, 2014, and chosen for the Whistler Praxis Screenlab, 2015. The screenplay received Harold Greenberg and Telefilm funding and is in development as a co-production with H-Is 4 Production (Toronto), Parallel Films (Ireland), and Streamline Pictures (Vancouver).
Katherine holds an MFA in creative writing and an MA in sociology. Her short fiction is published in The Malahat Review and her nonfiction is anthologized in Incorporating Texts into Institutional Ethnographies, University of Toronto Press, 2014.
Her screenwriting is represented by Anna Archer, Lucas Talent.
Katherine has worked as a freelance writer and editor, an ad copywriter, a creative writing mentor, and a university writing program administrator. She's lectured, blue-penciled, presented papers at conferences, and served on an editorial board for a literary journal. She loves horses, gardens, and mysteries.
