Mariah's father, Martinez Heath, started his professional career as a Jockey at the age of 16 at Portland Meadows in Oregon. In 1968 he was the regular rider of the champion thoroughbred, Nodouble. In 1967 he won 7 races on one race card at the Fresno Fair Race Track in Fresno, CA.
