A reunion of 30 Rock alums is officially a go at NBC.
The network has given a series order to The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, created by Tina Fey and starring Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe. The comedy, which was first announced in March, follows Reggie Dinkins (Morgan), a disgraced football player trying to rehabilitate his image and make it into the Hall of Fame. Radcliffe plays Arthur Tobin, a filmmaker who moves in with Reggie to make an immersive documentary about the former superstar running back.
The series reunites Fey and Morgan, who starred together on seven seasons of 30 Rock, along with fellow 30 Rock alums Robert Carlock and Sam Means, who will serve as executive producers alongside Fey and Morgan. Carlock and Means co-wrote the pilot.
During NBCU's Upfront presentation on Monday, Morgan said The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins has "one of the...

Tracy Morgan is headed back to NBC, and Daniel Radcliffe is coming with him. The duo will star in a previously untitled sitcom from Morgan's Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock colleague Tina Fey, which is now called The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. Variety reports the half-hour comedy has been picked up to series by NBC, who also released the first image from the series.
In the first image, Morgan (playing the titular Dinkins) sits on a park bench with Radcliffe and co-star Erika Alexander (Living Single). Morgan will play Reggie Dinkins, a disgraced running back trying to rehabilitate his image. Helping him out are Arthur Tobin (Radcliffe), an award-winning documentary filmmaker who's living with Reggie to film an immersive film about his comeback, and Monica (Alexander), Reggie's childhood sweetheart turned ex-wife, who is also his agent and business manager. Also starring on the series are fellow SNL alum Bobby Moynihan as Gator,...

In early March, it was announced that NBC had a new replacement for 30 Rock fans. The new comedy would also feature Harry Potter lead actor Daniel Radcliffe.
Initially, the comedy series only had an order for a pilot. The 30 Rock replacement sitcom would also feature Tracy Morgan in the leading role, who would reunite with several colleagues, including co-showrunners Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, as well as writer Sam Means. Per Deadline, the comedy series has received a massive update, as it has officially received the title The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, and NBC picked up the single-camera comedy pilot to series.
The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins Season 1 will reportedly consist of 10 episodes. NBC hasn't officially announced a release schedule, and its short episode count indicates a midseason launch. The comedy is not part of NBC's recently announced schedule for September and October, which...

The 30 Rock reunion of former star Tracy Morgan, creator, star and co-showrunner Tina Fey, co-showrunner Robert Carlock and writer Sam Means has been extended. The network has picked up the quartet’s single-camera comedy pilot, also starring Daniel Radcliffe, to series, which will be titled The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.
I hear the order is for 10 episodes. That typically indicates a midseason launch but NBC has not specified when the series will premiere. The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins is not on the fall 2025 schedule unveiled by NBC in conjunction with its upfront presentation today, which only covers September and October. It could debut as soon as November, Steven Kern, SVP Program Planning & Scheduling, NBCUniversal Entertainment, indicated during a pre-upfront press call Saturday.
In November, the network plans to add sophomore comedies St. Denis Medical on Monday at 8 Pm and Happy’s Place in its old Friday 8 Pm slot.

Kevin Hart’s Chicken Man is on the ground, breathing hard in fear, as Samuel L. Jackson’s badass gangster Frank Moten, known as the Black Godfather, holds a gun.
Subtly channeling Jackson’s legendary Pulp Fiction persona Jules Winnfield, Frank thunders, “You do believe in God, right?” Hart’s Chicken Man reply “with all my soul” produces a soft, but stern “then testify” from Frank. Not long after, a shot is fired, followed by a visual rewinding that flashes back to two weeks earlier, when Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist launched its story.
To launch the hit Peacock limited series — which Hart produces through his Hartbeat shingle with Will Packer — a black screened disclaimer appeared all capped in yellow type with the words “Based On Some Shit,” pause, “That Really Happened.” The series’ eighth and final episode returned to that moment, later revealing that Gordon “Chicken...

Taye Diggs' return to All American in season 6 could offer closure and guidance to mourning characters. The tragic twist from season 5 continues to impact the characters' stories in season 6. Uncertainty surrounds Billy Baker's unexpected return in All American season 6, episode 8, with the possibility of flashbacks or visions.
All American characters have come and gone throughout its six seasons, but one departure rattled the show and its characters, and their return in a season 6 episode can change everything. The CW sports drama, created by April Blair, is inspired by former professional football player Spencer Paysinger, with Daniel Ezra's Spencer James serving as the character based on him. Like Spencer in All American, Paysinger grew up in South Los Angeles but attended Beverly Hills High School, where he played as a linebacker on the football team. However, the series takes many creative liberties when adapting Paysinger's life story.

All American season 7 may feature an entirely new cast, marking a risky move by the show and network. The season 6 finale could bring closure to characters' stories, potentially paving the way for a new cast (if The CW renews All American). History shows that TV shows rarely succeed after a complete cast overhaul, putting All American at risk.
Rumors regarding what the cast will look like for a potential seventh season of All American are shocking, to say the least, and if they are true, future episodes of the television show will never be the same. The CW sports drama series, created by April Blair, is based on the life of former professional football player Spencer Paysinger before he made it to the NFL. Of course, All American takes many creative liberties when adapting Paysinger's real story, but Daniel Ezra's Spencer exhibits many of the real-life linebacker's qualities and circumstances.

The Drake-Kendrick Lamar showdown will continue — at the 2024 BET Awards.
The rappers will compete in two categories at the June 30 show: best male hip-hop artist and best collaboration. In the latter category, Drake is nominated for “Rich Baby Daddy” with Sza and Sexyy Red, while Lamar is nominated for his guest verse on the remix of Beyoncé’s “America Has a Problem.”
Drake is the show’s top contender with seven nominations, thanks to his album For All the Dogs (Scary Hours Edition). Lamar didn’t release an album that was eligible this year. The Canadian rapper’s other nominations include album of the year, best male R&b/pop artist and viewer’s choice for “Rich Baby Daddy.” He’s nominated twice in the video of the year category: “Rich Baby Daddy” and his guest verse on J. Cole’s “First Person Shooter,” the late 2023 track that reignited his feud with Lamar.

In May, Prime Video will return to the world of live awards shows as it again broadcasts the Academy of Country Music Awards on May 11. The major event will be hosted by country-music superstars Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks. The 58th ACM Awards will stream live from The Star in Frisco, Texas. One of the benefits of an awards show on a streaming service is that it doesn’t run commercials. If Prime Video continues the tradition it started last year, the ACMs will utilize the entire venue to keep the action moving throughout the show.
Coming to the streaming service in May is Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom,” a charming, stylized coming-of-age adventure about two offbeat 12-year-olds (played by Kara Hayward and Jared Gilman) who find solace in each other. Their touching romance is a potent reminder that love comes at all ages — and adults have much to learn from children.

Derek Luke always knew he wanted to be a hero — or rather, play one. But when the opportunity for him to join the Marvel universe arose in 2011’s “Captain America: The First Avenger,” he wasn’t so sure — even after his agent, the late Ed Limato, insisted.
“If he sent me something, he would say, ‘Do you like it? Alright we’ll get him next time, kiddo, no pressure,’” Luke says. “This was the only script that he said, ‘You need to do this. And I’m like, ‘No. Absolutely not. First of all, Marvel, like, what is that?’”
Limato was firm, so Luke took a meeting with Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige. Upon entering his office, Luke’s eyes were drawn to a section of the wall full of Black characters, ones he didn’t even know existed. Luke leaned in and took the role.

Disney+ Hotstar sports drama, “The Crossover” puts a strong emphasis on the concept of the ideal family. The series depicts a sports-freak family where there are no limitations on having ambitions or fulfilling them. The protagonists of “Crossover” are twin brothers Josh “Filthy McNasty” Bell (Jalyn Hall) and Jordan Bell (Amir O’Neil), two aspiring basketball players who come from a family where their father Chuck Bell (Derek Luke) encourages them to regard basketball as their ultimate devotion. Principal Crystal Bell (Sabrina Revelle), their mother, might be a little bit tough at times, but she also encourages her sons to follow their hearts and pursue their dreams. Sadly, life claimed many beloved things from this family, continuously breaking them down, but by rising from the ashes, the Bell Brothers illustrated that everything is possible if there is determination toward one’s goal.

When basketball fans gather to discuss the Greatest of All Time, the debates tend to be comparative. Russell vs. Wilt. Magic vs. Bird. The search for The Next Jordan or The Next Kobe or The Next LeBron.
The Current LeBron is still active in his own portion of the Goat conversation, presumably by virtue of his status as producer on Starz’s Survivor’s Remorse. But the newest TV series from James’ SpringHill company is more likely to evoke comparisons than any direct declarations of greatness. My notes on Disney+’s eight-episode The Crossover are scattered with references to other shows that the family basketball drama brought to mind.
It doesn’t quite achieve the lyrical poeticism of OWN’s David Makes Man or the earnest adolescent sincerity of Freevee’s High School or the proficiently executed basketball rush of Apple TV+’s Swagger or the enticing time-jumping mystery of The WB’s Jack & Bobby.

In April 2023, Disney+ will welcome a sports drama TV series, a sci-fi TV series, a documentary miniseries starring a Marvel actor, a movie based on two beloved classic Disney characters, and the final episodes of a popular Star Wars TV series. March saw the arrival of the first episodes of the highly-anticipated season 3 of The Mandalorian, the sports drama movie Chang Can Dunk, the crossover event Disney NHL Big City Greens Classic, season 3 of Secrets of Sulphur Springs, and season 2 of Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.

While it’s unclear whether or not Trevante Rhodes is into astrology, it’s hard not to notice the ways in which he embodies the archetype of his zodiac sign, Aquarius: unconventional, independent, progressive, nonconforming, and most of all, a free spirit.
When browsing Rhodes’ Instagram, one learns he has a thing for art and sunsets. He’s also a poet with great taste in music, in particular jazz and the soulful sounds of the ‘70s, such as the work of the great Marvin Gaye. But when asking Rhodes to define himself,...
