Final Destination Bloodlines co-director Zach Lipovsky has finally revealed the reason why they decided to scrap their initial plans to include Kimberly Corman in the latest installment of the hit supernatural horror franchise. Having completed a full month of release in theaters worldwide, Final Destination Bloodlines has emerged as a massive blockbuster. In fact, it out-grossed fellow Warner Bros. horror hit Sinners in international markets, and passed an all-time classic at the domestic box office this weekend. Bloodlines is by far the highest-grossing installment in the Final Destination franchise, which had remained dormant for nearly 15 years before its release. But, similar to the recent Lilo & Stitch remake and this week’s How to Train Your Dragon remake, the series holds a special place in the hearts of millennials.

With $130 million domestically and another $141 million from overseas markets, Bloodlines’ cumulative global haul now stands at $272 million. It probably has a little more life left in it before it wraps up its theatrical run for good. In the last month, Bloodlines has overtaken horror hits such as Annabelle, The Blair Witch Project, and Get Out.

Pop icon Charli Xcx is revisiting the Final Destination franchise ahead of seeing the latest installment, Final Destination Bloodlines, which landed in theaters two weeks ago. Over the course of a couple of weeks, Bloodlines has emerged as the highest-grossing installment of the long-running horror franchise, and has established itself among the biggest scary movies of the last few years.

Bloodlines is passing the $100 million mark domestically as we speak, and has earned $190 million at the global box office so far. This has put it ahead of the $188 million that Alien is currently sitting on, including all the revenue it has generated through re-releases. The movie celebrated its 45th anniversary in theaters last year.

Though the opening Sky View premonition sequence is arguably the highlight of the movie, the "lawnmower death" that befalls poor Uncle Howard has to be a close second. The carnage is brilliantly orchestrated, with several fake-outs building towards Howard falling backwards into the oncoming blades of the lawnmower.
