Shamila Lengsfeld is an Iranian-German director and screenwriter. She studied successfully at a film school in Cologne, Germany, and then attended the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles for an advanced directing degree. Her work has won international awards, like the sci-fi film, BLAKE, which won the German Newcomer Film Award 2018. Furthermore, her films often address sociopolitical issues, but questions of identity and belonging are also central to her work and wrapped in the genres of sci-fi, action, and crime.
