Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is set to reunite with celebrated director Joshiy after eight years of their blockbuster film ‘Run Baby Run’. Their latest collaboration is marked by Malayalam film ‘Rambaan’.

The script for the film has been penned by Chembosky and Chemban Vinod Jose.

The film is slated to commence filming in the middle of 2024, with a tentative release planned to coincide with the festivities of Vishu or Easter in 2025.

Talking about the movie, one of the producers of the film, Shailesh R. Singh said: “‘Rambaan’ is not just another regional film but it’s an ambitious project with a pan-India appeal. The movie will break the language barriers and leave a mark on audiences across the country.”

The film boasts of an impressive roster of talents including Sameer Thahir as the director of photography, the music composer Vishnu Vijay, costumes by Mashar Hamsa, makeup artistry by Ronex Xavier, and editing by Vivek Harshan.

After the success of Angamaly Diaries (2017) and Bheemante Vazhi (2021), actor-writer Chemban Vinod Jose is all set to collaborate with superstar Mohanlal and veteran director Joshiy for their upcoming film ‘Rambaan’. The film was officially announced on October 30, 2023, with a motion poster featuring Mohanlal in a stylish avatar, holding an axe and a gun. The poster also revealed that the film will be a Vishu release in 2025.

‘Rambaan’ marks the reunion of Mohanlal and Joshiy after a gap of eight years. The duo has delivered several blockbuster films in the past, such as No.20 Madras Mail (1990), Naran (2005), Run Baby Run (2012) and Lokpal (2013).

The film boasts of a stellar crew, including Sameer Thahir as the cinematographer, Vivek Harshan as the editor and Vishnu Vijay as the music composer. Aashiq Abu, the acclaimed director of films like Mayaanadhi, Virus and 22 Female Kottayam, has announced his next project titled Rifle Club. The film will star Soubin Shahir and Dileesh Pothan in the lead roles. The film is written by Suhas-Sharfu, the duo who penned the screenplay for Varathan, a hit film by Amal Neerad. The film is Co-written by Upcoming Film Lovely director Dileesh Karunakaran.

The music for the film will be composed by Rex Vijayan, who has collaborated with Aashiq Abu in several films like Mayaanadhi, Virus and Salt N’ Pepper.
