The Netflix disaster thriller Hijack '93 features a robust cast of African actors, particularly from Nigeria. The film was produced and distributed by Netflix, where it has been exclusively available to stream since its international release date of October 24, 2024. Directed by Nigerian filmmaker Robert Peters and written by Musa Jeffrey David, Hijack '93 was produced by Rogers Ofime and Charles Okpaleke. During its debut week on Netflix, Hijack '93 garnered a viewership of 3.2 million views and held the 9th spot in Netflix Nigeria's Top 10 list.

African streamer Showmax has set a November 2024 premiere for its latest Nigerian original drama series, “Princess on a Hill.” The announcement came during the 2024 Mip Africa event in Cape Town, part of the Fame Week Africa festival.

Co-created by Abiola Sobo and Tolu Ajayi, “Princess on a Hill” explores themes of power and ambition in a corporate setting. Ajayi’s debut film, “Over The Bridge,” premiered at the New York African Film Festival and scored 12 nominations at this year’s Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (Amvca).

The series stars Onyinye Odokoro (“Slum King”) as Zara, a young woman who wins the Lawson Group’s Leading Ladies reality show and finds herself tasked with saving the company. Bimbo Manuel, portrays the antagonistic CEO Moyosore Lawson.

The cast also includes Efa Iwara, Ireti Doyle, Femi Jacobs, Andrew Bunting, Mimi Chaka and Norbert Young. Chuka Ejorh and Shayo Oke-Sobo serve as co-executive producers.
