Jana Brown is a Boston native and a graduate of Dartmouth College. She worked in the publishing, newspaper, and magazine industries, before finding a niche as a screenwriter. In 2015, Jana set out on her own as a freelance writer and editor, founding 930 Creative LLC, a freelance writing and editorial services company. The driving inspiration for the change in career path was the production of her first full screenplay, The Divide, an independent feature film she created with actor/director Perry King (Riptide, The Day After Tomorrow, The Lords of Flatbush).
Jana has earned a Best First Time Screenwriter Award from the Los Angeles Film Awards (2018) and a Silver Award for screenwriting from the International Independent Film Awards (2018). At the LA Film Awards, The Divide was a finalist for Best Picture and also earned Best Western honors. The film also earned a Platinum Remi Award for Best Western at WorldFest-Houston (2018), garnered Best Dramatic Feature honors at the Arizona International Film Festival (2018), and won Best Feature Film at the Albuquerque Film & Music Experience (2018).
Jana has written two novels and has multiple other projects in development. She lives in New Hampshire with her family.
