Attorney General of the United States. First term = 26 November 1991-20 January 1993 (was acting attorney general 16 August 1991-26 November 1991); second term = 14 February 2019-23 December 2020.

Became the second two-time, non-consecutive U.S. Attorney General, after John J. Crittenden (served in 1841 and later in 1850-1853). Barr is however, the first non-consecutive one when the position was the head of the Justice Department (which wasn't until 1870).
