Why Are Timothée Chalamet’s Fans Taking Aim at Girlfriend Kylie Jenner?
Image
Timothée Chalamet’s fans, popularly known as Chalamaniacs, are aiming at Kylie Jenner, driven by a two-part concern for the actor’s image. The latest development reveals that fans have launched an operation named ‘Operation Unwelcome’ to faze Jenner out and ‘protect’ their beloved star.

Fans do not want their idol to experience the fall with his upcoming highly anticipated film, Marty Supreme. But why the hate? Let’s explore the reasons behind it.

Pools Review: Trespassing Toward an Honest Truth
Image
The American teen film often finds its setting in the sweltering, listless days of summer, a backdrop for rebellion and self-discovery. Pools opens within this familiar territory, dropping us into a stifling Chicago heatwave. Its protagonist is Kennedy, a student whose brilliant academic record is dissolving under the weight of grief following her father’s death.

Facing expulsion, she deflects her problems with an impulsive plan: a nocturnal tour through the swimming pools of a wealthy suburb. She gathers a small group of classmates for this illicit adventure. The premise feels like a classic setup for youthful hijinks, yet the film signals early that this journey through private backyards is...

Until Dawn: Horror Thriller Inspired By ‘Silent Hill’ Delivers Gore, Twists & Survival Suspense—Is It Worth Watching?
Image
Until Dawn: Supernatural Horror, Survival Drama, and Gore That Keeps You on Edge ( Photo Credit – Netflix )

Until Dawn, directed by David F. Sandberg, stars Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo, Odessa A’zion, and Belmont Cameli. The core concepts of the Silent Hill franchise inspire it. Considering that both the Silent Hill film franchise and the Until Dawn film are based on video games, the real question is, is it any good regardless of where the film got its inspiration from? Is it enjoyable? In other words, should you watch this horror, survival, supernatural thriller? The film is popular in South Asia, including India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, and has made it into the Netflix top 10 list in all three countries.

What is the Plot of Until Dawn?

The plot is simple. Clover is profoundly depressed and has attempted suicide at least twice in the past year. To cheer her up,...

Spike Lee Says He and Fellow Knicks Superfan Timothée Chalamet Want to Do a Movie Together: ‘Great Actor’ | Video
Image
Spike Lee and Timothée Chalamet are looking to do a movie together — if they can get over their Knicks rivalry.

Lee went on “The Bill Simmons Podcast” Thursday to speak with The Ringer’s architect before the release of his new film “Highest 2 Lowest.” During the episode, the former ESPN/Grantland writer stirred the pot, asking Lee if fellow New Yorker Chalamet has stepped on his turf as the preeminent Hollywood Knicks fan.

“I feel Chalamet is on your corner a little bit, and I want to make sure you’re good, because he’s become the signature Knicks fan,” Simmons said. “He’s kinda in your real estate. Have you hashed this out? What’s going on here?”

“No, no, no, no,” Lee said in the clip. “It’s no competition at all.”

The two continued to joke about Lee and Chalamet’s so-called rivalry when the “Do the Right Thing...

The Marty Supreme Trailer Features A Shark Tank Jump Scare You Won't See Coming
Image
Don't look now, folks, but we suddenly have an arm's race of Safdie Brother movies on our hands. The sibling director duo, most famous for films like "Good Time" and "Uncut Gems" in recent years, have since gone their separate ways. Benny Safdie is currently focused on "The Smashing Machine," the Dwayne Johnson-starring Mma drama that clearly has its sights set on awards season. Josh, meanwhile, is taking aim at similar subject matter with a bona fide movie star in his own right. "Marty Supreme" features Timothée Chalamet in the lead role, portraying a real-life ping pong aficionado -- yes, you read that right. It remains to be seen whether the Safdies' divide-and-conquer approach will pay off but, well, getting twice the amount of Sadie Brother movies in the same year feels like a win to me.

Indie studio A24 is handling the distribution for both of the brothers' movies,...

The Most Unlikely Co-Star of Timothée Chalamet’s Career Is in His New A24 Movie
Image
When A24 dropped the cast list for Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme, plenty of people had to read it twice. It is one thing that Timothée Chalamet will lead the project, but the real surprise came with the addition of Grammy-winning musician Tyler Okonma, better known as Tyler, the Creator, and Shark Tank investor Kevin O’Leary, aka “Mr. Wonderful.”

Watch the trailer below:

For Tyler, this marks his first major film role, while O’Leary steps far outside the boardroom to join the world of cinema.

They will appear alongside a stacked cast, Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, and Fran Drescher in what’s described as a sports adventure comedy-drama inspired by the life of legendary table tennis player Marty Reisman.

Scheduled for release on December 25, 2025, the film shows Safdie doing what he does best, throwing together unlikely talents to cook up something fresh, surprising, and impossible to ignore. With such...

Marty Supreme First Trailer: Is Timothee Chalamet’s A24 Movie Based on a True Story?
Image
The first trailer for Marty Supreme is finally here, and it’s already making waves. Starring Timothée Chalamet in the lead role, the movie is loosely inspired by the life of the American ping-pong champion Marty Reisman.

However, Chalamet’s character is named Marty Mauser, and the film adds a good dose of fiction to make things even more entertaining. So, this sports drama film from indie powerhouse A24 is a fictionalized original story rather than a strict biopic.

Meanwhile, the trailer shows Timothée Chalamet’s character rocking in a retro style, appearing in a thrilling ping-pong match, and doing his best to explain the sport’s appeal. Overall, the trailer dives into a world of competition, glamour, and a little chaos.

What Is A24’s Marty Supreme About?

Although not much is known about the plot for Timothée Chalamet’s upcoming Marty Supreme, the film is said to be...

‘Marty Supreme’: Everything to know about Timothée Chalamet’s ping-pong wizardry as first trailer drops
Image
Here's a twist — Timothée Chalamet is your next ping-pong wizard. The Oscar-nominated actor appears poised for a return trip to the awards race as the titular Marty Supreme, a '50s-era sports yarn loosely inspired by real-life table tennis champ Marty Reisman. Funnily enough, it's one of two sports-world awards hopefuls hailing from A24 this fall — and both are directed by a Safdie brother. Josh Safdie helms Marty Supreme, while Benny Safdie enters the ring with The Smashing Machine, starring Dwayne Johnson as UFC fighter Mark Kerr.

While The Smashing Machine will be making the trip to film festivals — including Venice and Toronto — moviegoers will have to wait a little longer to see Chalamet swing that paddle. Marty Supreme is notably sitting out the festival circuit ahead of its Dec. 25 launch. But the just-released trailer provides a vibrant sense of the movie's style and tone. Here's everything you need to...

'Marty Supreme': Timothée Chalamet Plays Ping Pong Star in A24 Drama
Image
A24 has debuted the first trailer for Josh Safdie's sports thriller Marty Supreme, which sees Timothée Chalamet dream big as a young man with aspirations of becoming a professional ping-pong player, who is willing to go to hell and back in pursuit of greatness. It looks like he will face several obstacles on his way to the top, but he will bounce back (unlike the balls he serves to his opponents). "What do you plan to do if this whole dream of yours doesn't work out?" someone quizzes, to which he asserts: "That doesn't even enter my consciousness."

Chalamet stars in the film opposite Gwyneth Paltrow, who is glimpsed in the trailer, playing a famous movie star that has an affair with the budding ping-pong phenom. The two share plenty of intimate moments in the film, but Paltrow opted against using an intimacy coordinator for the sex scenes. Marty...

Timothée Chalamet dreams big in the trailer for Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme
Image
Two years ago, Timothée Chalamet became the victor over the Christmas holiday with his delightful family film Wonka. Last year, he graced the big screens on Christmas again with the James Mangold Oscar-nominated Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown. Now, Chalamet’s upcoming film from A24, Marty Supreme, will be set to hit screens this Christmas. Could Chalamet be becoming attached to Christmas the way that Will Smith became attached to July 4th in the ’90s?

The forthcoming film hails from Josh Safdie (Uncut Gems), with the project based on a script he co-wrote with Ronald Bronstein. Safdie produces it with Eli Bush and Anthony Hatagas. A24 confirmed the project by sharing a social media post with a black-and-white photo of the film’s title printed on a ping-pong ball. The studio has now released the trailer with Chalamet’s Marty Mauser following his dreams in the face of opposers...

The trailer for Marty Supreme has arrived. The upcoming A24 movie, which is set to premiere in theaters on December 25, was directed by Josh Safdie, marking the first feature that he did not co-direct with his brother Benny Safdie (whose own solo directorial feature debut is the upcoming Mma drama The Smashing Machine).

The movie features A Complete Unknown star Timothée Chalamet in the lead role as fictional ping-pong great Marty Mauser, alongside a star-studded ensemble cast that includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A'zion, Fran Drescher, Abel Ferrara, Kevin O'Leary, Penn Jillette, and Sandra Bernhard.

A24 has now unveiled the official trailer for Marty Supreme. It opens with Marty, wearing his signature mustache, on the phone chatting with a movie star (played by Paltrow) and proving that he's also a performer by asking her to open her newspaper, where an article calls him "the chosen one."

Timothée Chalamet Is a Table Tennis Champion in Trailer for Marty Supreme: Watch
Image
Last winter, Timothée Chalamet had a funny little mustache while promoting his Oscar-nominated turn as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown — all for Marty Supreme. In the new movie from writer/director Josh Safdie, per the official description from A24, “Marty Mauser (Chalamet), a young man with a dream no one respects, goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness.”

Marty Supreme draws its inspiration from the life of table tennis champion Marty Reisman, though (as indicated by the character’s name change if nothing else), will likely hew away from reality. Still, it’s one of two sports-related movies starring A-list talent coming from a Safdie this fall.

In addition to Chalamet, the cast includes Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, and Abel Ferrara, with Fran Drescher playing Marty’s mother (perfection) and Gwyneth Paltrow returning to movie screens for the first time since Avengers: Endgame; she’s...

‘Marty Supreme’ Trailer: Timothée Chalamet Plays Ping Pong in Josh Safdie’s Globetrotting Adventure
Image
The 2025 fall movie season is shaping up to be an embarrassment of riches for fans of Josh and Benny Safdie. The filmmaking duo went their separate creative ways after “Uncut Gems,” each choosing to embark on their own ambitious project… which just means there are twice as many Safdie movies to enjoy this fall. Benny Safdie’s Dwayne Johnson-led Mma drama “The Smashing Machine” is up first, and then cinephiles will receive a holiday gift in the form of Josh Safdie’s “Marty Supreme,” which hits theaters on Christmas Day and just dropped its first trailer.

The film stars Timothée Chalamet as fictional table tennis star Marty Mauser in what has been characterized as an adventure film in the vein of “Catch Me If You Can.” Safdie and co-writer Ronald Bronstein (who also co-wrote and co-edited “Good Time” and “Uncut Gems”) took inspiration from the life of real ping pong pro Marty Reisman,...

A24’s “Marty Supreme” is ready to leave its mark.

After Benny Safdie’s The Smashing Machine will hit theaters on October 3, A24 will debut Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme in theaters on Christmas. ‘Marty Supreme’ Trailer: Timothée Chalamet Aspires To Ping Pong Perfection In Josh Safdie’s A24 Movie
Image
A24 on Wednesday debuted the first trailer for Marty Supreme, one of the year’s great cinematic curiosities, teaming Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown) with filmmaker Josh Safdie (Uncut Gems).

An original work set in the world of 1950s ping pong culture, the film tells the story of Marty Mauser (Chalamet), a young man with a dream no one respects, who goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness.

While never confirmed, sources have long indicated that the project draws loose inspiration from the story of pro ping pong player Marty Reisman.

The trailer opens on Chalamet standing on the bed in his royal hotel suite, phoning a movie star played by Gwyneth Paltrow to let him know that he’s “something of a performer,” as well.

In a later scene, Marty tells his love interest, played by Odessa A’zion, “I have a purpose, and if you...

Emerging as one of Hollywood's most prominent young talents, Timothée Chalamet first appeared in 2014 with the dramedy Men, Women & Children before featuring in Christopher Nolan's sci-fi spectacle Interstellar. His breakout came in 2017, portraying a tenderly lovestruck youth in Luca Guadagnino's Call Me By Your Name, earning his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor as one of the category's youngest contenders.

In the years following, Chalamet balanced notable supporting turns in Greta Gerwig's Lady Bird (2017) and Little Women (2019) with a riveting lead in Beautiful Boy (2018), embodying the harrowing struggles of a drug addict. His ascent continued with commanding performances in big-budget productions, most notably as Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve's Dune saga and as the whimsical chocolatier in Wonka (2023).

Demonstrating both range and creative ambition, Chalamet portrayed Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown (2024), the role securing him a second Academy Award nomination and the historic achievement of becoming...

Odessa A'zion Goes Pool-Hopping in Indie Film 'Pools' Official Trailer
Image
"Free is happy." "It's so unclear." Utopia has debuted the trailer for an indie film titled Pools, opening in select theaters later in August coming soon. The film premiered last year at a few festivals including SXSW Sydney. Pools is a coming-of-age indie comedy made by filmmaker Sam Hayes originally from Chicago. He says: "The original title of Pools was Pools at Night. And that image speaks very simply to what first drew me to the premise of this movie – the magic of a glowing blue pool at night... [It's] very much inspired by the movies John Hughes made in this same area in the 80s—Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Breakfast Club—some of my favorites ever. I wanted to make a movie like that, but about pool-hopping, which I find so quintessentially coming-of-age." Starring Odessa A'zion (aka Odessa Adlon), Mason Gooding, Ariel Winter, Tyler Alvarez, Francesca Noel, Michael Vlamis,...

Image

Speaking toThe Hollywood Reporter, Egerton opened up about his work on She Rides Shotgunfrom director Nick Rowland. When asked if taking on his role in She Rides Shotgun was a response to anything else he had worked on around the same time, Egerton replied, "Not really. I'm just out here trying to make things that mean something to me, and I'm not really trying to second-guess the perception of them too much." Egerton added, "You just follow the thing that you're inclined towards creatively. So I try as far as possible to separate myself from the perception of why I’m doing what I’m doing and just do what I'm doing."

‘She Rides Shotgun’ Review: A Fierce Taron Egerton Anchors an Overly Familiar but Ultimately Moving Crime Drama
Image
On the surface, Nate, played by Taron Egerton in She Rides Shotgun, seems an ideal father. He picks up his 11-year-old daughter, Polly (Ana Sophia Heger), at school. He playfully dyes her hair bright orange. He teaches her the best way to hold a baseball bat. And when they’re driving in his car together, he firmly tells her to put on her seatbelt.

In context, it’s another matter. Newly released from prison, Nate is picking up Polly because her mother and stepfather have just been brutally murdered by people associated with the Aryan gang leader he killed while there. He’s changed her hair color to throw off the criminals and police on his trail. He’s teaching her how to hold the bat not to play ball, but to subdue a potential attacker (hit him in the knees and then, when he falls down, on the top...

‘She Rides Shotgun’ Review: A Father-Daughter Relationship Put Through a Baffling Wringer
Image
Adapted from Jordan Harper’s 2017 novel of the same name, She Rides Shotgun starts out promisingly, with Nate McClusky (Taron Egerton) picking up his daughter, Polly (Ana Sophia Heger), from school. With his lithe, tattoo-covered body, the scowling skinhead makes for an imposing figure, and Polly doesn’t seem thrilled about being in his presence. It doesn’t help that the car he’s driving is obviously stolen, and she clearly doesn’t believe him when he tells her that her mother is just fine. We’re not sure that we should believe him either.

This opening stretch captures the characters of the book as well as the character of its setting. The Californian desert is shot to highlight the burn of its sun and the brutal beauty of its landscapes. It instantly feels like the place that would produce a man like Nate, who Egerton plays with a mixture...

Underrated 2025 Video Game Horror Movie Is Now On Netflix After $53M Box Office
Image
Video game adaptations continue to be released at a fairly regular cadence. Recently, they've been finding success in the form of TV shows. Titles like The Last of Us and Fallout have been major viewership hits as streaming TV shows adapting popular games.

In the world of movies, video game adaptations have a checkered past. Assassin's Creed (2016), for example, was a major disappointment, and it's one of a number of failed attempts to turn a video game into a massive blockbuster movie franchise. Over the last few years, however, there have been a number of success stories in this space.

The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is still going strong after the debut film in 2020, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie was a major hit in 2023, grossing $1.360 billion at the box office. This year, A Minecraft Movie became a viral sensation and was a big success in theaters.

Those titles are all family-friendly adventures,...

This 53% Rotten Tomatoes Video Game Movie Flop Is Headed to Netflix
Image
Video game adaptations have enjoyed more than their fair share of successful runs in recent times. However, the same time period has seen a declining interest in mainstream horror titles. It's a course of events that has affected Sony’s Until Dawn at the global box office. The horror movie has ended its run at the box office, earning a modest $50 million, which can be categorized as an achievement given the disappointing numbers the genre has endured over the last few years. Until Dawn arrived in theaters back on April 25, 2025, the film is set to try its luck on the small screen. The horror film is now scheduled to land on Netflix beginning July 24, 2025.

According to What's On Netflix, when Until Dawn arrives on the streaming giant this month, it'll only be available in the US with other regions being added later on. The United States will be receiving Until Dawn...

$53M Survival Horror Movie Based On Popular Video Game Sets Netflix Release This Month
Image
For decades, video game adaptations struggled to win over critics and audiences alike. Clunky storytelling, weak acting, and poor fidelity to source material left many adaptations feeling like cash grabs rather than faithful tributes. Flops like Super Mario Bros. (1993) and Street Fighter (1994) created a stigma that plagued the genre, leading to skepticism surrounding any new video game adaptation.

However, 2023 marked a turning point. The Super Mario Bros. Movie made over $1.3 billion at the box office to become the second highest-grossing movie of 2023. Meanwhile, Five Nights at Freddy's exceeded expectations, grossing $297 million to become the year's highest-grossing horror film. These successes signaled a new era, proving that video game adaptations can become massive commercial successes.

This winning streak has continued into 2025. A Minecraft Movie brought in $955 million, making it the year's second-highest-grossing Hollywood release. This success has also extended to television, with HBO's The Last of Us and Prime Video's Fallout captivating critics and audiences alike.

Until Dawn (2025) Review
Image
David F. Sandberg’s Until Dawn arrives with the weighty expectation that tends to accompany video game adaptations, especially ones as beloved and narratively intricate as Supermassive Games’ original 2015 release. The film, penned by Gary Dauberman and Blair Butler, doesn’t shy away from the challenge. What it delivers is a briskly paced, knowingly constructed horror feature that’s more playful than profound, more inventive than terrifying, and far more entertaining than most of its genre stablemates.

The story begins with a trope-heavy setup, where a group of college friends travel deep into rural nowhere to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Clover’s sister, Melanie. Their car ride, complete with cryptic gas station warnings and an ominous rainstorm, ends at a remote visitor centre in Glore Valley. So far, so familiar. But once the masked killer appears and dispatches the group one by one, only for them to wake up again in the same place,...
