Hugh Grant Joins Call For Police Investigation Into Rupert Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers Following Prince Harry Settlement
Image
Hugh Grant has joined the chorus calling for a police investigation into criminality at News Group Newspapers (Ngn) following this week’s high-profile settlement and apology with Prince Harry.

Appearing on the BBC’s Today program this morning, the BAFTA-winning star and Board Director of the Hacked Off campaign group said the “aim” of Harry’s initial case and of Grant’s own 2024 case against Ngn had been to spark a “new criminal investigation” against Ngn, but both had fallen foul of the UK civil courts legal system.

He said the job was not done “by any means” since the Harry settlement, coming after Harry’s lawyer David Sherborne said the Prince and fellow complainant Tom Watson “join others in calling for the police and Parliament to investigate not only the unlawful activity now finally admitted [by Ngn], but the perjury and cover ups along the way.”

Harry’s reported eight-figure settlement...

‘Veep’ Creator Armando Iannucci Takes Aim at Elon Musk After Anti-Racism Rallies Quash U.K. Riots
Image
Veep creator Armando Iannucci is taking aim at tech mogul Elon Musk after the billionaire was accused of fanning the flames of the U.K.’s far-right movement, which has led to nights of riots, looting and vandalism.

On Wednesday, police were told to brace for over 100 anti-migration protests with more than 6,000 riot police deployed across the country. Employees at Sky’s west London campus were issued a memo to stay home or leave work early as a protest was planned for nearby Brentford.

Instead, anti-racism rallies took hold of Britain’s streets and deterred further violence. In Brighton, Walthamstow, Liverpool, Oxford and Bristol, thousands of people were on the street holding up signs such as: “Refugees welcome here” and “Hate not welcome here.” A few serious incidents still occurred, but it was largely a peaceful night.

The chief of London’s police force, the metropolitan police, said it had been “a successful night.

T.I.M. Director Spencer Brown Discusses the Ultimate Stalker
Image
T.I.M., the technologically integrated manservant, is a humanoid robot (Eamon Farren) given as a prototype to Abi (Georgina Campbell) and her husband, Paul (Mark Rowley), as a requirement for her new job. They give T.I.M. unfettered access to their digital accounts to help facilitate their needs. Paul notices that T.I.M. is developing an eerie affection for his wife. But Abi, still wary of trusting Paul after his cheating, doesn't take his concerns seriously.

British comedian Spencer Brown directs and co-wrote T.I.M., his feature debut, with his wife, novelist Sarah Govett. He humorously says they're "Luddites who are extremely paranoid about technology of any kind" and "feel that people are monitoring and manipulating us." Both "grew up with the great stalker thrillers" like "Basic Instinct, Fatal Attraction, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, and Single White Female." They wanted to create the "ultimate stalker,...

T.I.M. Review | A Clunky Fatal Attraction Robot
Image
T.I.M., an acronym for a technologically integrated manservant, offers a frightening possible turn for AI sentience as more advanced robots become commonplace in our homes. The film's premise has a prosthetics engineer and her husband moving to a remote English smart house for her new job. She's given a T.I.M. prototype to test as a work requirement. This scenario isn't implausible, as Roomba's vacuum floors autonomously and Siri is a ubiquitous digital assistant. That said, the leap to T.I.M. being insidious and deadly isn't smartly portrayed, and the human reactions to an obvious threat makes little sense.

Georgina Campbell stars as Abi. She's trying to save her marriage to Paul (Mark Rowley) after his infidelity. An opportunity to work for a billionaire tech titan, Dewson (Nathaniel Parker) — think Elon Musk without his cowboy hat — offers them a chance to start over. The couple must...

‘T.I.M.’ Review – A Predictable But Fun Evil Robot Movie Starring ‘Barbarian’ Actress Georgina Campbell
Image
From the sci-fi classic 2001: A Space Odyssey to the more recent horror hit M3GAN, genre entertainment has always found a way to make artificial intelligence feel dangerous. And as the latest movie to capitalize on AI anxiety, Spencer Brown‘s T.I.M. goes down a familiar path. Barbarian star Georgina Campbell eventually falls victim to something originally designed to make her character’s life easier. Yet unlike past stories where the threatening technology is out to overthrow its human makers, this movie’s namesake does the unexpected: it falls madly in love.

The plot of T.I.M. sounds more like a rehashed “Treehouse of Horror” story from The Simpsons than a horror movie, but Brown and co-writer Sarah Govett make their outlandish pitch work. Rather than an automated house going awry, though, the script delivers a humanoid AI robot who goes completely off script.

The two main...

Eamon Farren & Mark Rowley Discuss AI Sentience in T.I.M.
Image
T.I.M. (Technologically Integrated Manservant) offers a frightening possibility where a robot meant to help our daily lives becomes a dangerous threat. The film's premise has a prosthetics engineer, Abi (Georgina Campbell), accepting a job and moving with her husband Paul (Mark Rowley) to a remote English mansion. She's assigned a T.I.M. prototype (Eamon Farren) for evaluation. An unnerved Paul soon realizes that T.I.M. is much more than he seems, and has become strangely infatuated with his wife.

Farren shot T.I.M. "on a break from shooting The Witcher. It was such a great opportunity to get into a different world, and to play someone or something that I never thought I would get to play." Rowley, a cast member on The Witcher: Blood Origin, relished wearing "normal clothes" and taking "two minutes to get ready." He agrees with Farren on an easier experience...

Official Trailer for Sci-Fi Horror 'T.I.M.' - Tech Integrated Manservant
Image
"I hope to bring you a life of ease and pleasure." Brainstorm Media has reveal a new US trailer for a kooky UK sci-fi thriller called T.I.M., made by filmmaker Spencer Brown. What if M3gan but about a sexy robot instead of a child's doll? That's pretty much the concept here. The sci-fi AI thriller, T.I.M. (which stands for Technologically Integrated Manservant), stars Georgina Campbell (from Barbarian), Eamon Farren as T.I.M., Mark Rowley, Amara Karan, and Nathaniel Parker. Inspired by '90s stalker thrillers, the film follows Abi (Campbell), a prosthetics engineer, and her husband Paul. As they adapt to a new life outside the city, Abi's latest project, the A.I. humanoid T.I.M., initially appears as the perfect aid. T.I.M. Cast: Meet the Actors Behind Netflix’s Sci-Fi Thriller
Image
Netflix’s new techno chiller T.I.M. follows a career-conscious woman called Abi as she moves into a new smart home with her seemingly not-very-trustworthy husband Paul. Even as she tries to make an impact with her new employer, he decides to gift her a “Technologically Integrated Manservant” (T.I.M.) to fuss around the house and help her out while she’s busy at work. T.I.M. might be the creepiest robot version of Alexa possible!

It’s not long before T.I.M. is taking it upon himself to do more than re-up groceries and sweep the floors, becoming obsessed with Abi and having a marked distaste for her formerly wayward husband. Things soon spiral out of control in the spotless smart home while Abi is distracted by the wild demands of her boss. Can T.I.M. be stopped from doing something deadly before it’s too late?...

Fans looking to pair brutal historical epics with their watch of "Seven Kings Must Die" need to look no further than Robert Egger's Shakespearean Viking epic "The Northman" on Prime Video or Neil Marshall's Romans-vs-Picts action-adventure film "The Centurion," available on more than half a dozen streaming services. For those looking for something less bloody and closer tied to "Titans," there's always the Superman origin story series "Smallville," streaming on Hulu, or if you want to get really vintage, there's the young adult shapeshifting series "Animorphs," streaming on Prime Video. The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die - Returning Cast & New Character Guide
Image
The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die sees many fan favorite cast members return for the Netflix movie as Uhtred Bebbanburg (Alexander Dreymon) is caught up in another war thanks to new characters attempting to take the crown. Based on The Saxon Stories by Bernard Cornwell, The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die will serve as an epilogue to the hit Netflix series, which followed the life of Uhtred Bebbanburg as he tried to help Alfred the Great (David Dawson) unify the Saxon Kingdoms while also fighting for his birthright. Uhtred also found himself in a moral quandary as his loyalties to both the Saxons and Danes were tested regularly.

Given that The Last Kingdom timeline covered a 45-year period, it didn't come as a surprise to see many cast members exit the series since several of them did have to leave for the sake of the story or be recast to portray older versions.

While Uhtred would do anything to protect his "new family", his loyalties to them are tested as he begins to reconnect with his roots and help King Alfred (David Dawson) with his dream to unite all kingdoms under one ruler.

While the ending of The Last Kingdom did end on a positive note for Uhtred as he finally reclaimed his birthright and became the Lord of Bebbanburg again, his story wasn't finished just yet as his region is the...

Ulrika Jonsson says she would not report her rape to the police if it happened today
Image
Ulrika Jonsson has said she would not report her rape if it happened today because she feels “deeply uneasy” about the police.

The TV presenter – best known for Gladiators and Shooting Stars – criticised the standards of policing in the UK for having “an indifference about women and their safety”.

In her 2002 memoir, Jonsson, 55, divulged that she had been raped when she was 20 years old and beginning her career as a weather presenter.

Jonsson said that she did not report the assault at the time because she did not think she would be believed since she knew the rapist.

In her recent column for The Sun, she explained that there “was no such crime as date rape” at the time.

“Society had taught me that I – as a woman – was culpable for finding myself alone in a room with a man,” she wrote. “I lived with that guilt and felt it for decades.

New ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’ Trailer Reveals the Netflix Franchise’s Origin Story, Teases Return of Jaskier
The Witcher: El origen de la sangre (2022)
Netflix dropped a new “The Witcher: Blood Origin” trailer at Ccxp down in Brazil on Saturday, offering a closer look at the four-part prequel event series and revealing that fan-favorite character Jaskier (Joey Batey) from the flagship Netflix series makes an appearance.

Set in an elven world 1200 years before the world of “The Witcher,” “Blood Origin” will tell a story lost to time – the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that lead to the pivotal conjunction of the spheres, when the world of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.

By the looks of this trailer the show is a bit more action/martial arts-heavy than the Henry Cavill-fronted original series, but it also looks to offer up answers to big questions posed in “The Witcher” – namely what in the world are those monoliths and what do they do.

The royal family is showing their steely determination and pragmatism (most likely learned from the Queen herself) this week, as they’ve all put aside their own grief to greet mourners on several walkabouts, hold vigils at the Queen’s coffin, walk in a procession, and speak to dignitaries.

The new Prince of Wales and King Charles III made a surprise visit to South Bank near Lambeth Bridge in London today as they greeted mourners who were waiting in line for a chance to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II.

Her body is currently Lying-In-State at Westminster Hall and will be moved to Westminster Abbey in a formal procession on Monday for her funeral service.

Royal fans went crazy for the father-son duo as they shook hands and told...

But strange things are in the air, as Brida (Emily Cox) is determined to have her vengeance once and for all and the enemies of the House of Wessex are gathering.
