Awarded 9 stars (out of 10) by WickedChannel.com, the indie horror film It’S In The Blood makes its DVD debut April 23rd from Monarch Home Entertainment. One year after a tragic incident tore their family apart, a grieving son (Sean Elliot) and his estranged father (Lance Henriksen – Aliens, The Terminator) embark on a journey into the wild to reconcile. When an accident leaves the father badly injured and strands them, it is up to the son to save them both. However, this wilderness is not what it seems, and as they deteriorate, so too does reality. Horrifying creatures, ghostly apparitions-- are they all in their heads… or could the truth be far more terrible?...

I can only imagine how haunting the witnessing of a rape can be -- and the witnessing of the rape of a loved one can only be amplified at least 1,000% above that. Essentially, that is what writer-director Scooter Downey's It's in the Blood is all about. Unfortunately, It's in the Blood takes on those demons all too literally...October (Sean Elliot) is inexplicably driven to return home to his estranged father (Lance Henriksen). They get off to a rough start, but are forced to bond once his father suffers a horrific accident. Like father like son, they witness the same demons -- which makes sense, since they both witnessed the same rape and murder. Together they find themselves nearly weaponless stranded in a dense forest surrounded by blood-thirsty monsters.

Things have been going great for filmmakers Scooter Downey and Sean Elliot as their It's In The Blood, starring horror icon Lance Henriksen, has acquired worldwide distribution. Read on for the details.

The award-winning psychological thriller will receive a VOD release by Gravitas Ventures and Koan Inc. on October 26 on iTunes, Amazon and Vudu. There are also festival dates scheduled. Check the press release below for upcoming festival screenings.

Filmmakers Scooter Downey and Sean Elliot are proud to announce that their first feature film, It’s In The Blood, has recently been acquired for distribution by Gravitas Ventures (North American Video On Demand) and Koan Inc. (North American all non-digital and all rights foreign).

*full disclosure: a DVD screener of this film was provided by Greenhouse Studios. Director: Scooter Downey. Writers: Scooter Downey, and Sean Elliot. Cast: Lance Henriksen, Sean Elliot, Rose Sirna and Jimmy Gonzales. It's in the Blood is a small indie production centrally starring Lance Henriksen and Sean Elliot. Elliot also performed writing duties on this thriller. But, can this film be classified into one genre? There are elements of horror with creatures and ghosts appearing within foggy environments. There are dramatic elements as well as a father and a son try to bond after a tragic event. This is also a psychological journey. Characters October (Elliot) and Russell (Henriksen) are externalizing some of their angst in this hiking trip gone wrong. It's in the Blood is a blend of genres, but essentially this title is a psychological drama. The story does begin simply with a trip out into the woods.

Shock was sent a new one-sheet for the upcoming film It's In the Blood from director Scooter Downey.  Lance Henriksen toplines the film which co-stars Sean Elliot.  The film was formerly carrying the title Wildnerness.  Head inside for a new look at the poster.  In the film, a father and son become stranded in the wild and must confront the horrors of their past to escape with their lives.  No word on a release date, but stay tuned...
