Silvana Santamaria is an award winning German-Italian film director, screenwriter and producer based in Berlin. With her films she won important national and international awards. (Max Ophüls Prize for "Nowhere.Kosovo" - best feature documentary, Young European Civis Media Prize for "Status: tolerated" - Best European Newcomer Award, Best narrative feature at Best of the Best competition, Los Angeles, USA for "A Part of me", and many more.
Her films were screened in A-Festivals like San Sebastian Film Festival and Shanghai Film festival and other International Filmfestivals like JCC Carthage Film Festival, Rio International Filmfestival, Mexio International film Festival, etc .
She is one of the co-founders of the film production company Soilfilms where she successfully writes, directs and produces fiction- and documentary features. Since 2017 she is focusing on International Co-productions between Germany and USA and since 2013 between Germany and North Africa/ Asia.
