An exceptional fielder like his elder brother Ian, Chappell retired with 122 catches to his name.

Scored a century on his test debut against England in 1970, a century in both innings of his first ever test as captain against West Indies at Brisbane in 1975 and a century in his penultimate test match against Pakistan in 1984. It was also the final test of fellow Australian greats, pace legend Dennis Lillee and record holding wicketkeeper Rodney Marsh.

Captained Australia in 48 tests, winning 21 of them.

Was voted by ESPN Cricinfo as the 17th greatest cricketer of all-time in 2001.

Most prolific batsman of the breakaway World Series Cricket with 1415 runs averaging 56.
