Garnering 128.1M views in its first 24 hours, according to WaveMetrix, the trailer has hit 222M as of today. For the sake of comparison, the trailer for Uni’s Wicked — the first of two new films based on the musical — landed 112.9M views in its first day of release, with pop culture phenomenon Barbie bringing in just 101.6M in the same period. Other recent films that have seen their trailers bested in this metric include Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (96.2M), The Marvels (90.6M), Mean Girls (79.3M), Challengers (75.M) and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (61.6M), to name just a few.

Sony Pictures has dropped the first trailer for It Ends With Us, the troubled-romance film starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, based on the bestseller by Colleen Hoover.

The film, from Columbia Pictures and Wayfarer Studios, was originally slated for a February release but that was delayed when production shut down due to the WGA strike. A subsequent June 21 release was pushed back to a current debut of August 9.

The trailer, set to Taylor Swift’s “My Tears Ricochet,” neatly sets up the plot. Exclusive: Isabela Ferrer and Alex Neustaedter have joined the cast of Wayfarer Studios and Sony Pictures’ film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel It Ends With Us. They will play Young Lily and Young Atlas, respectively.

The film stars Blake Lively as Lily, Justin Baldoni as Ryle and Brandon Sklenar as Atlas, with Baldoni directing. Jenny Slate and Hasan Minhaj are also starring.

Sony Pictures is releasing the film theatrically on June 21, 2024, with Alex Saks producing for Saks Picture Company along with Jamey Heath on behalf of Wayfarer.

Executive producers are Steve Sarowitz, Andrew Calof and Baldoni on behalf of Wayfarer Studios, which is also co-financing, along with Lively, Hoover and Andrea Ajemian. Christy Hall has penned the current screenplay and is also producing.

The movie stars Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni, Brandon Sklenar, Jenny Slate and Hasan Minhaj.

It Ends With Us leaves behind Focus Features’ Lisa Frankenstein, Bleecker Street’s Out of Darkness, and Disney/Pixar’s Turning Red on Feb. 9 and moves to a weekend where there’s Focus Features/New Regency’s The Bikeriders.

Pic’s blurb: Though coming from a complicated past, Lily Bloom has always known the life she wants. While living in Boston, she meets neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid and believes she may very well have found her soul mate. Soon questions arise about their relationship and, to complicate matters, her high school love interest, Atlas Corrigan, comes back into the picture putting her relationship with Ryle in jeopardy.

Sony Pictures released the first trailer for its horror film “The Unholy,” in which Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays a journalist investigating a supernatural case involving the divine.

In “The Unholy,” a hearing-impaired woman claims she was visited by the Virgin Mary who made her able to hear, speak and heal the sick. The phenomenon draws people from near and far, but soon, Morgan’s character realizes that there’s something more sinister is at play.

The film is produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Evan Spiliotopoulos, who also write and directed the film that is based on James Herbert’s best-selling book “Shrine.” Andrea Ajemian and Romel Adam are executive producing.

Katie Aselton, William Sadler, Cricket Brown with Diogo Morgado and Cary Elwes also star.

“The Unholy” will be released on Easter weekend.

Rosamund Pike is back playing yet another dangerous game in the trailer for J Blakeson’s “I Care a Lot,” a crime drama that premiered at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival.

Pike plays Marla Grayson, a professional, court-appointed guardian for dozens of elderly people — whose assets she cunningly seizes through legal means. However, she and her business partner and lover Fran (Eiza Gonzalez) accidentally choose the wrong retiree to con.

Peter Dinklage, Chris Messina and Dianne Wiest also star.

“I Care a Lot” is produced by Teddy Schwarzman, Ben Stillman, Michael Heimler and Blakeson. Executive producers are Andrea Ajemian and Sacha Guttenstein.

The film, which debuted to rave reviews and holds a score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, will debut on Netflix on Feb. 19.

Netflix has made its fourth acquisition from the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival with “I Care A Lot,” the thriller starring Rosamund Pike and Eiza González.

Netflix, which paid around $10 million for the film, will own the U.S. rights and the rights to countries like Germany, Latin America, South Africa, the Middle East, India and a few others.

“I Care A Lot” follows Marla (Pike) as she sets herself up as the legal guardian of elderly people when they don’t have someone who will take care of them. But soon, she makes a big mistake when she takes on the wrong elderly client. Peter Dinklage, Chris Messina and Dianne Wiest also star in the film written and directed by J Blakeson.
