Director Jack Hill’s 1967 film Spider Baby or, the Maddest Story Ever Told (watch it Here) – which boasts a cast that includes Lon Chaney Jr. and Sid Haig – ranks up there as one of my all-time favorites. Rob Zombie clearly took some inspiration from Spider Baby when he was making House of 1000 Corpses, and back in 2007 we heard that a remake was in the works, coming from the Night of the Living Dead 3D team of director Jeff Broadstreet and writer Robert Valding. The one didn’t end up making it into production… but a couple weeks ago, it was confirmed that filming had just wrapped on a version of the remake that’s coming our way from Scs Entertainment and director Dustin Ferguson (Cocaine Cougar). A remake of the classic horror film Spider Baby has wrapped filming. Earlier this year, we reported that the remake was in the works with Dustin Ferguson serving as director. Now, Ferguson has confirmed, via Horror Geek Life, that shooting has been finished on the project. Also revealed is the cast of the new film, which includes Ron Chaney — the grandson of Lon Chaney Jr., one of the stars of the original Spider Baby. Beverly Washburn, who appeared in the original movie, is also in the remake.

Along with Ron Chaney and Beverly Washburn, the remake stars Brinke Stevens, Robert Mukes, Peter Stickles, Traci Burr, Jennifer Moriarty, and Vida Ghaffari.

Here’s our exclusive first look at the poster for award-winning filmmaker Michael S. Exclusive: The Deer Hunter star John Savage is among cast for domestic abuse drama Finding Nicole, based on Chris Cuomo-fronted CNN doc Inside Evil – Until Death Do Us Part.

The film will chart the true story of Nicole Beverly (Kaiti Wallen) and her family with the focus on her domestic abuse case and how she overcame violence.

The rights were attained by director-producer Harley Wallen (Eternal Code) of Painted Creek Productions, according to Wallen’s attorney Bill Dobreff.

Savage will play the hard-nosed judge presiding over the case. Also starring will be Kelli Maroney (HBO’s True Blood), Brandon Quintin Adams (The Sandlot), Vida Ghaffari (Eternal Code), Blanca Blanco (Betrayed) and Yan Birch (Wes Craven’s The People Under the Stairs).

Production is due to get underway this year in Michigan close to where the actual story took place.

Exclusive: Sean Whalen, who starred as Roach in Wes Craven’s cult horror-comedy The People Under The Stairs, is set to lead vampire thriller Beneath Us All.

Harley Wallen (Abstruse) is directing from a screenplay by Brett Miller (Ash And Bone). Producers are Painted Creek Productions in conjunction with Westside Warrior Films and Cama Productions.

Pic follows Julie, played by Angelina Danielle Cama, a foster child heading for her 18th birthday. She finds an item buried in the woods with something unspeakable inside. Whalen plays Todd, Julie’s step father, who struggles with his gambling issues.

Maria Olsen (Paranormal Activity 3), Yan Birch (Agramon’s Gate), Kaiti Wallen (Eternal Code), Vida Ghaffari (The Mindy Project), Michael Alexander (Moving Parts) and Wallen himself round out the cast. Production starts in April in Lake Orion, Michigan.

Whalen is repped by Metropolitan Talent Agency and Advanced Management.

One man production team Harley Wallen is back with his latest opus, Eternal Code, in which he stars as well as writing and directing. The film tells the story of a genetic research company who, breaking all moral and ethical codes, has developed a miracle device to sustain human life for the rich and powerful.

A new Candyman movie is on the way, but it has never been completely revealed if horror legend Tony Todd will be reprising his iconic role or not. It certainly sounds like he's in the movie, but that has never been 100% confirmed either. While we await news on that front, it has been announced today that Todd has found a new project to call his own. He will be appearing in a new horror anthology called Realm of Shadows. “Black Panther” star Boseman is producing and starring in “17 Bridges.” Brian Kirk, whose credits include “Luther” and “Game of Thrones,” is directing from a script by Adam Mervis.
