We are living through a critical time, and are witness to a systemic and international backslide on womens rights and gender equality. Misogynistic and patriarchal forces endeavour to flex their muscles attacking and repealing milestones reached through decades of advocacy and protest.

For the last six months the world has anxiously watched what seems like a civil war between the people of #Iran -led by women and a brutal military dictatorship. At the end of 2022 the Taliban banned women from attending university and working in NGOs - only the most recent step in an alarming rollback on womens rights in Afghanistan. Earlier in the year sexual violence rates grew in Ethiopias conflict. Women in and fleeing Ukraine are increasingly vulnerable to sexual and gender-based violence, access to sexual health is under assault in the U.S and we are only just beginning to properly understand the COVID-19 pandemics lasting impact on womens entitlements.

#WomanLifeFreedom has become a rallying cry. We will continue to scream for women - we will continue to scream for life and we will continue to scream for freedom.

RISE

Yasaman Mohsani is a Award winning, British-Iranian Actress. She is known for her Lead roles in: 'Everyone' (2024) for which she received 4 Best Actress awards, Bafta and Oscar qualifying and multiple award winning short film 'Rise' (2023), 'Aaja Mexico Challiye' (2022) for which she was nominated for a Best newcomer award. 2025 will see the release of high profile work which is much anticipated.

Yasaman is studying at London Academy of Music and Drama (LAMDA) and is due to graduate in 2026.
