According to Cline, she "only got the news that I was coming back about two-and-a-half weeks ago," leading to a round of reshoots in which it is shown that Danica did indeed survive her ordeal with the latest murderous Fisherman.

Major, major spoilers for whoever hasn’t seen “I Know What You Did Last Summer” (the 2025 one) yet. Madelyn Cline, who portrays Danica Richards in the film, has a brutal would-be-death scene at the movie’s climax. With Danica seemingly at the bottom of the ocean, it would appear that there was no coming back to the franchise for the “Outer Banks” star. But instead, right at the end, Danica washes ashore. She’s alive against all odds.

In an interview with THR, released July 20 but conducted on June 28, Cline revealed that the ending was a last-minute revision. “I only got the news that I was coming back about two-and-a-half weeks ago,” she said — meaning the scene was shot just about a month shy of the release.

The thriller directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson reunites Prinze and Love Hewitt to reprise their roles of Ray Bronson and Julie James, respectively.

“Whatever a high school reunion feels like, that’s what it felt like,” Prinze told People about the reunion. “You have no idea what’s changed, what’s the same. You’re excited to show what you think you’re better at, you know what I mean? You hope they notice it. It was all those things.”

Ryan Murphy has an axe to grind with Netflix. The streamer has reportedly ordered a fourth season of Murphy’s Monster anthology series, this time centered around infamous (alleged) axe murderer Lizzie Borden.

The historical figure was tried and acquitted for the murders of her father and stepmother in 1892, at which point she was ostracized by her Massachusetts community. Borden story was previously adapted into the Lifetime limited series The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, starring Christina Ricci in the title role.

In a new episode of Variety’s Award Circuit, presented by Paramount+, TV editors Michael Schneider and Emily Longeretta discuss the top contending lead and supporting actors in both limited series and TV movies at this year’s Emmy Awards.

In the lead actress race, contenders include Cristin Milioti (“The Penguin”), Cate Blanchett (“Disclaimer”), Rashida Jones (“Black Mirror”), Amanda Seyfried (“Long Bright River”), Michelle Williams (“Dying for Sex”) and Ellen Pompeo (“Good American Family”).
