Ellie was born in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to California when she was 7. Even though she's been in California more than half her life, you can still hear a hint of an accent when she speaks.

Ellie was awarded the Director's Clara Bow award for her work in A Life That Matters. Mr. Rhodes stated her face told a story before her words did, comparing her work to that of Ms. Clara Bow, a silent actress in the 1920s.
