UK-based sales firm Blue Eyes Film and Distribution has acquired international sales rights to mockumentary Standing On The Shoulders Of Kitties: The Bubbles And The Shitrockers Story.

Blue Eyes will also release the film on December 6 in cinemas in the UK and Ireland, coinciding with its North American release through Blue Fox Entertainment.

Blue Fox Entertainment and Blue Fox Canada have picked up North American digital and theatrical rights for comedy “Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles and the Shitrockers Story.”

Featuring Mike Smith as Bubbles, Robb Wells as Ricky, John Paul Tremblay as Julian, and Patrick Roach as Randy, the movie is a spinoff of the popular long-running Canadian show “Trailer Park Boys,” which has 16 seasons available for streaming on Netflix. Blue Fox plans to release the movie nationwide in cinemas, though dates have yet to be announced.

“Bad Santa” actor Billy Bob Thornton co-stars in the film, with special appearances by Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, “Sherlock” co-star Martin Freeman and “The Umbrella Academy” alum Robert Sheehan.

Hey, "Dateline NBC" fans. We're back in your faces on this Friday night with some not-so-great news because the people over at NBC are not airing a new episode of Dateline NBC tonight, March 29, 2024. Nope, instead, they're going to dish up a repeat episode. Some of you guys might not have seen this repeat episode during its original airing. So, we do have some preview intel for it. Tonight's repeat episode is officially titled, "Hit List." It originally aired way back on April 1, 2022. During it, the Dateline NBC team took a deep look at a story about an Oceanside, NY, murder-for-hire plot. This plot targeted a former NYC police officer's husband. The officer's ex-boyfriend and other insiders close to this case gave their thoughts. Canadian journalist Andrea Canning handled the reporting duties for this episode and case. The upcoming weekend boasts an onslaught of new Specialty titles vying for audiences. In all likelihood, however, many will have a short big screen life as the fall’s awards contenders ramp up and crowd others out. Five of this week’s dozen-plus newcomers are spotlighted here with Fox Searchlight’s The Drop edging on a wide release. The feature starring Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and James Gandolfini will bow in over 800 theaters. TWC’s The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby also joins the fray with a platform release. The film also has two accompanying titles told from the perspective of its two main characters, which will be released in more limited runs in October. Magnolia will open its thriller Honeymoon in a day and date release while Dada Films’ Swearnet: The Movie breaks a movie record with the most F-bombs ever. eOne Films has released a trailer for Warren P. Sonoda's upcoming comedy Swearnet: The Movie. The film follows the Trailer Park Boys stars Mike Smith, Robb Wells, and John Paul Tremblay, who are fed up with being censored in their post-Trailer Park Boys lives and decide to start their own uncensored network on the internet. Their latest project Trailer Park Boys: Don't Legalize It will hit Canadian theaters this weekend starting April 18th, with both Swearnet: The Movie and Trailer Park Boys: Don't Legalize It available for streaming on Netflix this summer.

Swearnet: The Movie comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Robb Wells, John Paul Tremblay, Mike Smith, Patrick Roach, Tom Green, Scott Thompson, Mishael Morgan, Jessica Rimmer. The film is directed by Warren P. Sonoda.

While a teaser for Trailer Park Boys: Don't Legalize It dropped back in December, it didn't show us too much from the further adventures of Ricky, Julian and Bubbles (Robb Wells, John Paul Tremblay and Mike Smith) as they join together on a mission to keep weed from being legalized in Canada. Today, we get the raunchy Red Band trailer, which shows off more of their exploits while saving the best stuff for cinema screens. After Trailer Park Boys: The Movie and Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day, they promised they'd never make another movie. They lied. In (Canadian) theaters April 18.

The stars of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet will reunite for the show's 30th anniversary later this year.

A special weekend-long convention in Newcastle will mark the milestone in September, including a tour of locations used in the series.

The comedy followed a group of British construction workers overseas, launching in November 1983.

It ran for two series on ITV from 1983 to 1986, before returning on BBC One in 2002. A fourth series followed in 2004, along with a two-part finale special.

Timothy Spall, Kevin Whately, Jimmy Nail and Tim Healy led the cast, along with Gary Holton, Christopher Fairbank and Pat Roach.

Healy - who played team leader Dennis Patterson - is confirmed for the event, along with creator Franc Roddam and writers Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais.

Several other cast members are expected to confirm their attendance in the coming weeks.

In fact, yesterday, Showcase announced that its new comedy series The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour has been in production since May 26 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This show will be made of six episodes of half an hour. Besides, according to Showcase, The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour "builds on the success and popularity of the stars of the seminal Showcase comedy series Trailer Park Boys, inspired by comedy classics like Monty Python’s Flying Circus and the more recent British import The League of Gentlemen".

Honesty is a quality all too undervalued in critics (it usually takes a back seat to the ability to create short, penetrating little missiles of inanity that can be featured on a film’s poster come awards season), so I’ll come clean with you right now: I walked into Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day fully expecting to hate it, and already crafting impossibly clever sentiments designed to let everyone know just how awful it was. But I didn’t hate it. I certainly didn’t like it, and I didn’t laugh once, but it defied my expectations as to what I was about to see in ways that weren’t really pleasing, though I’m still a little befuddled by.

The movie, highlighting the ongoing adventures of the title residents of Sunnyvale Trailer Park, comes complete with special features for further hilarity.

Picking up where the 2008 "Trailer Park Boys" TV special "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys" left off, hapless criminals Ricky (Robb Wells), Julian (John Paul Tremblay) and Bubbles (Mike Smith) are released from jail after their latest series of shenanigans. But coming home isn't exactly an easy ride, as cat lover Bubbles fins his beloved kitties missing and taken in by an animal shelter with a steep fee required to get them back.
