Janine McGrath(II)

Janine McGrath is an Australian actor based in Melbourne. She was born in the Victorian country town of Wycheproof, but grew up in the city and suburbs. Janine's first love was ballet, but her interests were divided between dance, singing, and acting. Too tall to fulfill her dreams of becoming a ballerina, Janine refocused on teaching and choreography. After college, she enjoyed a short spurt as a school teacher and a long career in the dance world before acting beckoned once again. Janine re-trained as an actor during the Covid Lockdowns and emerged ready to take on new possibilities. So far she's been cast in feature films, short films, web series, commercials, plays, and training films. Her great interest is in her family, especially her grandkids who have given her a new perspective on ball games, board games, make-believe, and aeroplane rides. Apart from books she read as an adult, Janine cites her greatest literary influences as The Sleeping Beauty, The Narnia Chronicles, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, while in cinema she was fascinated with Disney's The Ugly Duckling and Fantasia, along with Epic Theatre, where dragons, witches, and magical creatures abound. Janine holds a Diploma of Teaching, a Graduate Diploma of Education (Visual & Performing Arts), and an Advanced Diploma of Dance Teaching (Australian Ballet School).
