Jude Law and Andrew Garfield are about to star as two of the most quintessentially '90s icons in a new limited series for AppleTV+. The two Brits are set to play Siegfried FIschbacher and Roy Horn, respectively — better known as the magical Las Vegas duo Siegfried & Roy. The limited series (currently set up for an eight-episode run) is based on the Apple Original Podcast, Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy, and has been in development since 2022. Production is slated to begin in the fall of 2025.

According to reporting from Variety, John Hoffman (who co-created Only Murders in the Building alongside its co-lead Steve Martin) developed the series and will serve as executive producer, showrunner, and director. The eight-episode series was first reported to be in the works at Apple back in 2022. As reported at the time, it is based on the Apple Original Podcast, “Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy.” Law will star as Siegfried and Garfield will star as Roy, with production set to commence in the fall.

Jude Law and Andrew Garfield are set to executive produce and play Las Vegas showman-magicians Siegfried and Roy, respectively, in the newly picked up Apple TV+ limited series Wild Things, from writer, showrunner and executive producer John Hoffman.

Based on the Apple original podcast, Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy, the eight-episode, hour-long series “tells the wild ride relationship tale of two of the greatest showman-magicians in history who, along with their white tigers, are tasked with turning Sin City into a family-friendly destination. The duo pushes the concept of illusion versus reality to the extreme, personally and professionally, until tragedy reframes and opens a mystery surrounding their last fateful Las Vegas show,” according to a release from the streamer.

Production will begin this fall with Matt Shakman set to direct the pilot and serve as executive producer alongside Hoffman, who will also direct.

Brian Grazer, Kristen Zolner, and Natalie Berkus will executive produce for Imagine Entertainment, the company producing Wild Things. Additional executive producers include Tony Leondis, Kathy Ciric, and Will Malnati, who conceived the podcast on which the show is based. Steven Leckart, who wrote, narrated, and executive produced the podcast for At Will Media, also exec produces.

The tech company is launching Easy Money: The Charles Ponzi Story and Bookie star Maniscalco will voice the eponymous lead character.

Apple has been expanding its slate of original podcasts in the non-fiction space with the likes of Hooked, The Line and Missed Fortune but Easy Money marks its first original scripted show.

The eight-part series, which will premiere on June 23, traces the rise and fall of the man who gave the Ponzi scheme its name. Ponzi was an Italian immigrant who, in 1920, defrauded the modern-day equivalent of a quarter of a billion dollars.

The series has landed at Apple TV+, its television and film division, and will launch on the Apple podcast platform.

It comes at a time where competition is becoming more prevalent in the podcast business with major rival Spotify getting heavily into originals that only live on its platform.

Apple has cautiously dipped its toes into original shows in the past but they have largely been focused around its music platform – The Zane Lowe Podcast Series – or its original television shows such as For All Mankind.
