On April 21, 2006, one week before principal photography was to begin on
Steve's latest feature film, he was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident on an Interstate highway outside Phoenix,
Arizona. Beside totaling Steve's red Harley Davidson at about 75 mph,
Steve suffered 13 fractured vertebrae, a right pelvis fractured in
three places, 7 broken ribs, a broken shoulder and a broken jaw, not to
mention road rash on the right side of his face. (Nope. No helmet)
Although he was only given a 50/50 chance that he would ever walk
again, he actually walked out of the hospital 15 days later using a
walker to stand upright. The accident pushed production back several years. Steve still rides.
