The Dark Tower (2017), will be coming to Netflix on Dec. 1. The film version starred Idris Elba as The Last Gunslinger and Matthew McConaughey as the villainous Man In Black. The film is set in an alternative world where western-like gunslingers fight to protect reality and the fall of the Dark Tower to dark forces.

The film did not perform as hoped at the box office, making just $113 million on a $66 million budget. Co-writer of the film Akiva Goldsman felt the reason behind the failure was due to "pieces shifting" and "too many points of view." The movie holds a 16% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an audience score of 44%.

Four-time Academy Award nominee Ed Harris has starred in his fair share of movie and TV westerns, always delivering a memorable turn no matter what his character calls for. Whether starring as the Man in Black in Westworld or playing Virgil Cole in the underrated Appaloosa, it's apparent that Harris has a fondness for playing cowboys along the American frontier.

This List Contains Spoilers For Season One For The Rings Of Power!

After weeks of continuous theorizing, the season 1 finale of The Rings of Power has given the best evidence yet that the mysterious Stranger is none other than the beloved grey wizard, Gandalf. While some, including the cultists from the East, thought he could be Sauron, and others speculated that he might even be The Man in the Moon from Hobbit folklore (or an enigmatic Blue Wizards), the clues did point to Gandalf after he spoke that iconic line. In the penultimate episode of Westworld season four, Charlotte Hale’s new world order is crushed by the hands of several hosts.

That includes host William (Ed Harris), whose embracement of his human counterpart’s violent, nihilistic tendencies doesn’t just bring Hale’s tower crashing down, but whose’s arrival as — or return to — the Man in Black sees quite a few of Westworld‘s most prominent characters catch a bullet from his very gun.

Among them is this season’s omniscient host Bernard, played by Jeffrey Wright, who in episode seven comes face-to-face with the show’s original villain in Hale’s (Tessa Thompson) tower — her hub for putting humans in loops and making the world into her park.

Death is a fate that Bernard would have seemingly wanted to avoid, but in crunch time reveals is a fate out of his control.
