As Paramount gears up for the theatrical release of its The Naked Gun revival in August, the future of scripted comedy was under scrutiny at the Avp Summit producers’ event in northern Italy on Wednesday.

Louis Vuitton has partnered with K-pop star Felix for the 2025 edition of its ‘Silver Lockit‘ jewellery collection, created to raise funds for Unicef. Felix, a member of Stray Kids and a Louis Vuitton ambassador since 2023, played a key role in designing this collection. The pieces feature the brand’s iconic miniature lock, engraved with a blue heart and the word “dream.”

This is the second iteration out of three iterations of “The Equalizer” franchise: the original 1980s television series, the movie trilogy starring Denzel Washington and directed by Antoine Fuqua, and a reboot of the television series starring Queen Latifah. In all of the instances, it followed a retired intelligence agent who used the skills they had learned throughout his career to extract vigilante justice on behalf of the innocent.

The most famous of all these iterations, inevitably, follows Denzel Washington as retired CIA intelligence agent Robert McCall. As the first film opens, he lives a quiet life in Boston and works at a hardware store. He befriends Teri, a teenage sex worker played by Chloe Grace Moretz. She is beaten by her pimp in front of Robert and taken in by the Russian Mafia. Offering to buy her freedom, McCall is refused and chooses to make quick work of them in brutal succession.

When I watch "The Batman," I never want it to end. Even three hours isn't enough time in this world, and the spin-off show "The Penguin" could only tide me over so much. Even "The Penguin" setting the stage for "The Batman Part II" is bittersweet because that sequel remains years away.

Matt Reeves' "The Batman Part II" has been delayed several times. The movie is currently set to open October 1, 2027, but DC Studios co-chief James Gunn told Entertainment Weekly that he hadn't seen Reeves' script as of the end of March 2025.

The Rage: Carrie 2 was released in 1999, a TV movie aired in 2002, and another theatrical version starring Chloë Grace Moretz came out in 2013. The upcoming Carrie series has been teased as having an updated take.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Flanagan discusses the process of casting Summer H. Howell as the titular character. He mentions that 1,800 different performers auditioned for the role, and that Howell's performance will be "unlike anything that anyone's ever done with the part before." Amazon MGM Studios has finalized key casting for its eight-episode television retelling of Stephen King’s 1974 novel “Carrie,” naming 20-year-old Canadian performer Summer H. Howell as the telekinetic lead while frequent collaborator Mike Flanagan oversees writing, direction and show-running duties.

Samantha Sloyan, known for “Midnight Mass,” will portray Carrie’s domineering mother Margaret White, joining a growing ensemble that features Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle, Amber Midthunder as gym teacher Miss Desjardin, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, and Josie Totah as Tina.

Production is scheduled to begin in Vancouver in mid-June following Flanagan’s February pre-production start, with principal photography expected to run through mid-October. Amazon describes the project as a “bold, timely re-imagining” that will stream worldwide on Prime Video in 2026, though a precise premiere date has not been set.

Fans of Stephen King and Mike Flanagan are having a blast. With The Life of Chuck set to premiere in theaters on June 6, the duo's new project has received an exciting update.

Among other projects, Flanagan has also taken on a new adaptation of Carrie for Prime Video. The 1974 iconic novel has been adapted before, once in 1974, and again in 2002 and 2013. Now, Deadline confirmed Summer Howell will be taking the titular role, as previously rumored, and that several returning Flanaverse actors will be a part of the cast.
