Jim Chalmers(II)
Jim Chalmers is a very prominent figure in Australian politics. He is currently the Treasurer of Australia in the Albanese Labor Government, a position he has held since May 2022. He has been the Member of Parliament for the Queensland division of Rankin since 2013.
Jim holds a PhD in political science and international relations from the Australian National University, and degrees in commerce and arts (with First Class Honours in public policy) from Griffith University. Before entering parliament, he had a significant career as a senior advisor, including being Chief of Staff to the Deputy Prime Minister and Treasurer (Wayne Swan) from 2010 to 2013. He also served as Executive Director of the Chifley Research Centre.
