Ex-husband Paolo Frajese was a famous Italian reporter.

Hedman, who had been a well-known model, arrived in Italy as wife of an Italian journalist, Paolo Frajese, who in 1965 had gone to Sweden for a number of television reports.

She began her artistic career in the early seventies as a model, to later land in cinema in secondary roles. Her subsequent experiences saw her engaged in erotic cinema.

In 1976, Hedman filmed his first unsimulated sex sequence (intended for inclusion in the foreign release) in the film Emanuelle in America, directed by Joe D'Amato.

In 1979, Marina starred alongside Enzo Fisichella in the first hardcore sex scene for the Italian market, in Joe D'Amato's film Immagine di un convento. The film was a huge success, fueled by the scandal of being played by the ex-wife of one of Rai's most famous television journalists.

Initially, she used the name Marina Frajese, then, after a civil lawsuit brought against her by her ex-husband, she took on the pseudonyms Marina Lotar or Marina Hedmann or Marina Lothar and also Marina Chantal.
